Let's not confuse the actions of a lunatic with the state's passion for football. I would imagine if Debate tournaments were Texas' high school competitions of choice, this nutball would have gone after one of the debate coaches.

Why don't high schools here have their own football field? This is the only state I've lived in that doesn't.

They do, but a lot of them play in big districts which consolidate fields into a district field. Back in the day we even played at the Alamo Dome.

Not as home field. But the game we played there, we were the "home team".

Large districts build central football/sports complexes that serve all the high schools in that district. It's much cheaper than building a whole bunch of different fields.

NISD has two football fields. They are also building a new softball field and baseball field, so there will now be 2 softball fields and 2 baseball fields to go with the 2 football fields.

NEISD Football plays at Blossom which is badd ass.

IMHO, HS football should be played on natural turf. Back in my day we came off the field looking we were in a real football game covered with nice grass and mud stains.

They have fields, they just don't use them for games.

Kinne came to Canton in 2003 for his first head coaching job after working as an assistant at Mesquite High School. In his first season he took a team that was 3-7 the previous year to an 8-3 record and their first playoff win in 39 years. In 2004 Canton finished 8-2, narrowly missing the playoffs on a tiebreaker.

Took a 3-7 to 8-2, that father is lucky the coach didn't get State or he would get the needle.

It's too damn important especially in this town. Hell, people would probably rather see High School Footbal than support an NFL team.
