Per Adam Schefter. Should be a done deal since Schefter reported it. Some draft picks, I hear.

3rd and a 4th. Just happy he's off the team.

Meh move. Im just hoping we are able to keep Wilfork long-term and Seymour can actually stay healthy and be productive

Probably moving to OLB. Hopefully he can replace Colvin's production which they've missed.

I'm shocked Al Davis will still deal with the Patriots. I fully expect Burgess to have a huge comeback year now.

Pretty good pick-up. Low-risk move for late picks and it gives them a chance to improve the pass rush

Interesting move. Should be a very nice pickup for the Pats as long as hes used only in pass rushing situations, and stays injury free.

http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/2009/08/frequent_trade.html

In researching a few Patriots-related nuggets for the Boston Globe Sunday football notes, I came across this one: Since 2005, the Patriots and Raiders have made six trades.

That makes the Raiders the most frequent trade partner over the last five years.

A look at the deals (with a quick-hit thought):

# April 24, 2005 -- Patriots trade a 2005 sixth-round draft choice (175th overall) in exchange for a 2005 seventh-round draft choice and 2006 fifth-round draft choice. Patriots pick Matt Cassel with seventh-rounder.

# Sept. 2, 2006 -- Patriots trade a 2007 fifth-round draft choice in exchange for WR Doug Gabriel. Gabriel doesn't make it through a full season with New England.

# April 28, 2007 -- Patriots trade a 2007 third-round draft choice (91st overall) in exchange for a 2008 third-round draft choice and 2007 seventh-round draft choice. Patriots weren't enamored with quality of '07 draft and wanted to push picks into the next year.

# April 29, 2007 -- Patriots acquire WR Randy Moss in exchange for a 2007 fourth-round draft choice. It now looks like grand larceny, but the Raiders had no other market for Moss.

# April 25, 2009 -- Patriots acquire a 2009 second-round pick (40th overall) in exchange for a 2009 second-round pick (47th overall), 2009 fourth-round pick and 2009 sixth-round pick. Patriots gave up some chips to move up the board to put themselves in position to select Ron Brace/Darius Butler back to back.

# August 6, 2009 -- Patriots acquire DE Derrick Burgess in exchange for a 2010 third-round pick and a 2010 fourth-round pick. If the Patriots acquire a 2010 fifth-round pick, the fifth-rounder will be shipped to Oakland instead of the fourth-rounder. Patriots needed pass-rush help and Burgess was holding out in Oakland; Raiders had a market for Burgess and thus had some leverage to up the trade terms.

Surprising how often these two teams trade with each other. Then again, New England makes about 50 draft pick transactions a year so they're bound to make deals with every team in the league, except the Colts because they're faggots.

I guess that's the only thing a pats fan can call them ever since the Colts fucked them, no vaseline.

raping the colts was a New England tradition for many years. The Colts get one win and they suddenly think they own the Patriots? LOL

It's also hilarious how the NFL refuses to send the Colts back to Foxborough because they want the regular season games to be competitive. Doesn't matter, we'll buttfuck them in their new big expensive shithole stadium.

It might have just been one of three karmatic retributions for cheating to 3 titles.

Is it too late for the Bills to trade for Pollard?

I always realized that the Pats and Raiders make deals. It also seems like the Pats go after the Raiders FA's a lot. It's kind of weird.

And on my Madden franchise, I traded Burgess for Maualuga.
