I don't buy it. New QB, lost nine starters, USC is very vulnerable and has 3 tough games.

The team in position always finds a way to choke like OSU did last year.

cal has a great running back and i believe they get the trojans at home. should be a good one.

They will most likely get a chance, as SC always loses to someone they shouldn't, but Cal plays them early (Homecoming against SC?? Really??). The opening stretch of the P10 is brutal (@ Ore, SC, @ UCLA, Wazzu, @ Az St, Ore St) then they end up with a much improved Zona and two away games (Stanf, UDub).

Oregon, with whom the Bears will assumingly be battling for 2nd with, has a much more advantageous schedule with Cal, Wazzu, Az St, SC and Ore St all at home, no back-to-back extremely tough games, and only one back-to-back road test (@ UCLA/UDub). They might not be in the MNC picture because their non-conf is Boise/Purdue/Utah (who the hell did that to them??) but they look better for a chance to dethroning SC.

This is definitely USC's weakest team since probably 2003 or 02. I could easily see Cal or Oregon winning it.

Most every team in the Pac-10 is starting new players in key positions. How can you not like USC's chances on an 8th straight PACX title? Weakest team since 2002/03? Man, I think Lofa Tatupu, Troy Polamalu, recently retired Kenechi Udeze, Sean Cody, and Mike Patterson would beg to differ at those teams being the "weakest" That should go to the 2005 team in which an already suspect D was ravaged by the onset of the injury bug. The 2002 team lost to Kansas St. and on a last second field goal to Washington St. up in the Paluse

I don't think it'll be a cakewalk, but don't sell the Trojans short because ALL the major players in the PACX have just as many questions on their teams as USC does. And don't forget 'SC has a number of blue chip recruits stepping in to take over for the likes of Cushing, Maualuga, and Clay Matthews Jr., so let the season begin!

Cal will win the Pac-10 if USC joins the NFC West.

Which they might be able to win. :)

If USC is going to lose more than 2 games in a year, this is the year it could happen.

Oregon is winning the Pac 10 this year. Favorable home schedule against the better Pac-10 teams. Oregon 1, USC 2, Cal 3.

+1 I like Oregon as well, but SC will go to a better bowl

Cal? Because of 1 Running back. They have major QB issues to resolve. USC is taking the PAC-10 title once again because SC just reloads every year, unlike all the other PAC-10 schools.
