Here would be mine:

PG-Parker/Johnson
SG-Gervin/Ginobili
SF:Elliott/Bowen
PF: Duncan/Rodman
C:Robinson/Gilmore

There are a lot of great players in Spurs history and its hard to break it down to just a few. Its hard to leave guys like Willie Anderson, Alvin Robertson, Johnny Moore, and the likes off the team, but this would be my selection as the All Time Spurs best team.

Pretty good list, but I'd swap out Avery for Johnny Moore, Bowen for Mike Mitchell and Rodman for Larry Kenon.

How better was elliott than bowen?

Elliott was not as good, defensively, as Bowen, but he wasn't exactly a slouch either. Offensively, Elliott is far superior to Bowen. You know when Bruce has a shot on the wing and a defender rushes him, so he drives to the basket for a missed layup? Sean actually made those shots and sometimes dunked them.
Plus, he helped us win a championship on two bum knees and one good kidney.

I'm calling you crazy. :lol Kidding aside, Bowen is definitely someone I would want on my team, because he is/was a phenomenal defender. But Elliott's overall game, especially his offensive skills, earn him the starting job IMO. Although Sean's defense was not on par with Bowen's, I always thought his defensive skills were never given enough credit.

Allot of Spurs fans have no idea how good Larry kenon really was. Also, Michael Jordan said that Alvin Robertson was one of the most difficult players for him to play against.
It is hard to tell how good Silas would have been had he not gotten hurt. The same could be said for Johnny Moore.

I am being serious here, you wouldn't want an NBA legend (admittedly in the twilight of his career) that provided 18/7 for this club in the year that he was here on your bench (even though that year was painful at best)?

It kills me not to put Bowen on this team, but I figure if I have a healthy Duncan and Robinson in the post, I'm not as worried about penetration.

If I can have a 12-man rotation, I'm adding Bowen and TC.

You need to put a minimum number of seasons with the Spurs into the equasion or you wind up with Dominique Wilkins, Rod Strickland, Rodman etc. deserving a place strictly in terms of talent exhibited during their career elsewhere.

well naturally if you got

88 chuck person
clippers terry cummings

we'd average like 200 pts a game

SG - Gervin, Manu, Anderson
SF - Elliott, Bowen, Mitchell
PF - Duncan, Cummings, Kenon
C - Robinson, Gilmore, Rasho

HC - Pop
Asst. - Brown, PJ, Bud, Gentry, Chip

I picked Robertson as my 3rd PG, cause he could be an effective ball handler and passer. I also like his defense and scoring better than Avery, Moore, and that no look pass Putz. Plus, by putting Robertson at PG, it allows me to put Willie Anderson on the team.

My only other issue was the 3rd Center. I didn't want Paultz. I had Rasho, Perdue, and Carr in mind. I picked Rasho cause he was one of my favorites when he was a Spur.

How about this lineup for lockdown defense......Robertson, Bowen, Elliott, Duncan, and Robinson

Let's go small.......Duncan, Mitchell, Gervin, Manu, Silas

I love my team.

I think Elliott is a better player than Bowen was no doubt. But I would probably Start Bowen ahead of Elliott. Just as Manu comes off the bench even though he is better than Finley or Mason. Bruce is not as effective unless he is going against perimeter starters or stars. Plus you would have plenty of offense on the floor with Parker, Gervin, Timmy and Dave.
