This has been a difficult summer with so many of our hero's passing on into their resting place. The latest, Mrs. Eunice Kennedy Shriver. I think she may have had the greatest impact on kids lives than anyone else. In 1968 she launched the Special Olympics. Today over 3.1 million with mental disabilities participate in 228 programs in 170 nations. I have been fortunate to participate in events that help kids with special needs, theirs nothing more gratifying than when I see a kid smile and truly enjoy what's taken place.
The Jonas brothers are coming to San Antonio and here's an opportunity for you to move to the music with Joe Jonas and support the Special Olympics Texas and the Jonas Brothers' Change for the Children Foundation. Hit the streets with Joe at the "iWin Joe Jonas Fun Run" on August 13th at Sunset Station. I was always taught that when a loved one passes on, it's important to remember the good times you may have shared with that individual. I didn't have the opportunity to actually meet Eunice, but I have and continue to participate in one of the GREATEST PROGRAMS EVER, the SPECIAL OLYMPICS. Come on out and Run and help continue the legacy of Eunice Kennedy Shriver, and make a difference in someones life.
