If you weren't allowed to be a fan of the team you now represent here on spurstalk, which team would you then choose to put under your avatar? In other words who is your #2?

Probably the Blazers.

You can't be a spurs fan and have the mavs as your second fav team.. that's ludicrous!

i don't like the jazz and the rockets, and that's it. Dirk being my favourite non spurs player, the mavs are my 2nd team for now.

It's interesting that most peoples 2nd fav team are all non-contenders LOL

I really have a hard time picking a second favorite. I guess it's hard to see beyond the silver and black.

After 2004 and 2005, probably the Pistons. They caught my attention by knocking off the Lakers, then put up a great battle in 2005, and have been known as an organization similar to San Antonio in quality and character.

As much as a pain as they were, I used to really like the Suns run-and-gun style of play, but it looks like those days are done.

Don't really have a 2nd favorite but when I was a kid my 2nd was the magic cause of penny and shaq.

A lot of people like the Thunders' young core(Same w/ the Grizz and the Blazers). I just really like the trio of Butler/Arenas/Jamison. Although the Wizard won't be contenders, they should easily make the playoffs in the East.

Then you pussied out and built them their own room, and then they trumped your pussy and pussied worse and entered the GD thing.

The Minneapolis Lakers:toast

In all seriousness. Man, I can't think of one. My love for my Lakers runs deep and to even consider liking another team much less rooting for one is difficult.

Well, if I have to then maybe I'll put it this way. If the Lakers would to somehow not represent the west and say S.A. made it to the finals to meet our arch enemy Boston, you bet your but I'd root for the Spurs. The hatred for Boston also runs deep. That's the best I can do under these circumstances.

I also like the teams where Slovenians play...But I don't like the Lakers, cause I don't like Vujacic.

I don't "hate" all the teams that aren't the Hornets. I do hate some, though.

I hate every team in the league not named the Utah Jazz. I can't even sit through 5 minutes of an NBA game if the Jazz aren't playing in it. I have no interest at all in any other team.

There are a few players that I like on other teams though. Most of them are former Utes.

I agree w/ you. I'm a Hornets fanatic, but I'm also a big fan of NBA basketball. The Wizards are my 2nd favorite team, and I do watch a good bit of their games and cheer for them, unless of course they are playing the Hornets.

I will watch any NBA game. It's my favorite thing to do during the season. Other than the Wizards, I much prefer watching the Western Conference.

I also have a lot of respect for the Spurs, Jazz, Pistons, and Bulls(Grew up an MJ fanatic).

There are also a lot of player I like to follow, such as: D-Will/TP/ Durant/ Rose/ Mayo and Gay/ AGENT ZERO and Butler/Granger/Igoudala.

My question to people who simply can't root for another team is:

Do you watch other games? and If you do, do you not find yourself cheering for one team or the other? or are you just apathetic towards it?

Rockets and Lakers are 1A and 1B

I'd have to go with the Spurs, it's a pretty easy choice. I was rooting for the Spurs in basically every series they weren't playing the Lakers in over the past 9 years. The only time I didn't really want them to win was in 2007 against the Suns.

Meh, I am more of a player guy... I loved those Divac-Kings, Larry Johnson-Knicks, Reggie Miller-Pacers, Sabonis Blazers, Shawn Kemp-Sonics and Antone Walker-Celtics. But a 'team' that I would align myself with? Maybe the Spurs? But it would be because of Timmay, and would be fleeting when he leaves. Despite my man-crush on Dwayne Wade, I have no love for the Miami Heat. Chicago had me going with Ben and Ben, but that is long gone (now Ben and Ben in Detroit, go figure). Maybe the Lakers, once Kobe is gone, as I am from LA and because their FO gets the job done.
Don't know, I just don't know.

EDIT: On second though, I would probably become a Jazz fan as soon as Boozer gets kicked and Slone dropps dead. D-Will, Okur, Millsap and AK-47 is just an awesome lineup...

1. your always gonna be a contender

2. its not hard to root for them because of above and acting like a constant douche would never be so easy

The team who beats the Cavs instantly makes me a fan. I hate that team with a passion and it brings me great joy to watch their fans and players suffer when they lose in the playoffs.
