I just subscribed to Newsdemon which is the best/easiest to use (preferably free) neswreader. I got News Rover but im pretty much stumped on how to use it.
if you have Newsdemon why do you care if your newsreader is free?
Just use Newsbin Pro.....

I used Newsleecher for a couple a of years. It was pretty good. Can't remember why I switched (# of simultaneous connections?) but I've been using Alt.Binz for the past couple of years now.

Giganews has over 200 days of binary retention unlimited for $25 or so a month. Not sure if anything beats that. They may even have 300 days retention now.

Check out Ngroups. 340 days of retention for $12 a month, unlimited bandwidth and connections. I'm not sure if that deal is still being offered. I think they have a $30/quarterly thing still going on, as long as you subscribe to automatic recurring subscriptions each month.
400 day retention, unlimited downloads, 8 connections, 17.99 a month.
