Is that a joke or what?

Ginobili thrives on moments that Parker runs away from..........

Ginobili's shot selection is ranked #1 out any guard

Ginobili will score over 30 points on 20 shots taken while Kobe or T-MAC have to take like 36 shots to score like 40 points.

Yeah and he delivers in the clutch time and time again.....something Parker might dream of but in reality never shows up.

If it wasn't for Parker's 2nd quarter performance, the Spurs wouldn't even have a chance to be in this game. Stop the hate. Both of their performances tonight were necessary.

My point is that Parker disappears in the clutch- arguing that is like saying Chris Kaman is a hotty........Kori, you drunk?

what happened to the people who actually had something intellegent to say???

??? Uh, no. Parker is still in year 4 of his rookie deal, so Manu makes many times the $1M+ that Parker is pulling down. The extension kicks in this summer.

Both were huge tonight

parker is younger and plays a much more important and difficult position to fill. economics of the game. are you gonna now complain some qb makes more than a wr

Manu's a money player, Tony sure as fuck is not. That is the point of the thread.

manu is worth more to the spurs with his intangibles and better defensive play, that is arguable. as to their salaries its simple economics. just as long as they both make more than rasho

Who gives a fuck how much they make. Tony's value on the open market was higher than Manu's. The Spurs paid what they needed to in order to keep them both here. That's what matters.

I just wish Parker would be more agressive in pressure situations instead of deferring to Manu every single possession. We can be a much better fourth quarter team with Tony taking charge.

You and the radio listening AHF cry when Tony doesn't give it to Manu and cry when Tony takes shots.

It's a lose-lose with you two.

He had five or six assists in the third quarter. Sometimes his deferring helps the team a lot. I admit that he has trouble on occasion figuring out when to be aggressive and when to be passive. And I admit that there have been times he choked. But people don't need to ride his ass so much. Both Manu and Parker are a huge part of the Spurs success on a regular basis.

BUT, they know much more than us and the coaches.

Bow to them.

tony earned a larger contract because it is more difficult to find a good pg and he's 5 years younger than manu. Manu isn't complaining people, I think he'll be living quite well with 52 mil.

I really don't think that it's a product of Tony not knowing how to win at the end. I think that it's that he runs so fast all game that he's out of gas at the end.

He almost always has a great scoring quarter and a great assist quarter (usually mutually exclusive) in the first three, then he just seems out of gas at the end.

I think a lot of it is that he's much more aggressive on defense this year too.

It's just frustrating on a night like tonight where Beno didn't really get any run, and there's also Wilks around and you could throw Barry out at point for a spell as well.

I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion we need to do more monitoring of Tony's minutes so that he's fresh at the end of games (like we do with Manu).

where Beno didn't really get any run

I'm starting to think that he might not make the playoff roster. He makes huge mistakes defensively almost every time he comes into a game. It will be interesting to see what the Spurs decide.

IMO thats a mistake.

If you sit parker then the only other one id trust is (shudder) brent barry.

Mike Wilks is more IR fodder than Udrih.

For years now, several of us said that Tony's game drops off a cliff after 30 minutes. That's why having a good backup is so important. There is no way anyone can diminish his importance to the team, however. Parker is often the guy putting the other team on their heels so the closers can finish them off.

I think Tony is major piece in Spurs future. He has shown he can carry a team(temporarily) as he did in Phoenix without Tim and Manu (30 pts). He had the winning shot in Clipps gm in January and I recall the Nets gm in NJ where he took over in 4th qtr.

He has potential for being a top 5 point in the league, don't take for granted what you got ppl.
