iPhone question

So... how the F do I put videos on my iPhone without buying the crap from the iTunes store? I figured that I could at least use my iPhone as a hard drive.

Assuming that it's so asinine that I can't even do that, should I A) take it back to the store or B) jailbreak it?

I'm tempted to just get a Blackberry if this is the case. Probably should've done my research, but I figured in this day and age, I'd at least be able to use a phone with 16G as a hard drive. Of course, this is my first time using an Apple product.

Eh, isn't showing up. I did some research online, seems like the iPhone won't recognize .avi files unless you convert to something like mp4 first. Blah!

Plus still no Flash capability... I'm tempted to bring this back for a Blackberry Bold.

The point is that everything plays different types of files, the Zune for example will probably play WMV's since it's made by Microsoft, while the iPhone will play .MOV files since it's made by Apple, who knows what the fuck the Blackberry plays since it's made by RIM. The real point is that no matter what you get you'll probably have to do some converting.
