In Canada, it's much cheaper than the Iphone (I will be eligible to renew my contract in 1 year only :wow, so I can't take the Iphone with my provider)
I've read tons of reviews and blogs about the N95 8 gig, and most of them are pretty good.
So, waddayathink?

I don't know. That phone is over 30 months old, which makes it a dinosaur compared to most modern devices.

But it still has nice specs
If you read lots of reviews and stuff it sounds like you already have everything you need to know. I do agree with CH though that it's an old and discontinued phone.
Just don't pay too much for it.

for how much?
my friend can get it for me at cost price AU$300
but currently not interested in spending such amounts on phones...just happy with a brick that can phone, receive calls/sms

It's around 350-400$, Canadian Dollars

It's not really "dinosaury"
Sure, the UI is not the best (far more better on the Iphone) and the phone itself is a bit thick, but it has great specs and features

man, i was all about the nokia n series. n95, n96, n97, but now i got the iphone. the n95 is solid, especially the camera, but it is a bit clunky these days. i would go with it if you can't get the iphone. then again, if you only have a year i would just wait for the iphone. i'm sure the next generation iphone will be out by then.

Yeah, the new gen could be out then.
Again, with Apple, you get 1-2 new basic features a year; they know they can do more but don't want to just to grab a max of $$$
The N95 is 2 years old but already has lot of features.
Moreover, I can't wait anymore, I'm tired of my regular flip phone

The Nokia E71 is great too
If it had the N95 8gig camera, I would buy it in a heartbeat
It's sleek, thin and great stuff
