What are your thoughts? After the age of 21- how do you feel about guys wearing jerseys in public?

Highly appropriate if you're going to a sporting event or a get-together with friends to watch a sporting event. Otherwise, no.

The only jersey I really wear outside of a sporting event is an old school Astros Nolan Ryan jersey. It looks more like a tshirt than a baseball jersey though. I have Spurs jerseys and other Astros jerseys I don't really wear when I'm out.

I don't usually wear mine unless I'm going to a game or going to go watch a game. It doesn't bother me when other guys weaa the jerseys around in public.

I think it's alright. Although, it may be not in the best of taste. Depends on what you are doing. If you are just hanging out with friends, or hiking, being outside...fine. If you are going to some upperscale shopping sores or restuarants....then not so much.

I wear jerseys all the time especially those from the EPL and Serie A

A jersey with another dude's name on it? Not since I was 12. Save those for the women and kiddies

I'm one of those who will wear what I want when I want and I don't care if the look is "in" or not. If I have a jersey and I want to wear it I will.

people forget before apex, starter, champion in the early 90s, there really wasnt such a thing as a replica jersery, at least not widely available mass produced for many teams

because it was a youth thing, it always kept the stigma of being childish

Maybe replicas became popular because those kids growing up in the early '90s wanted to wear jerseys as adults. They did grow up wearing them, so now, in their opinion, there's nothing wrong with wearing a jersey. :tu

On a side note, I've been refused by bars due to dress code for wearing a Spurs jersey. I just found it highly amusing that my 65 dollar shirt wasn't good enough to go buy a couple beers.

I don't have much of a problem with anything men wear as long as they are clean. I think I have more of a problem with men being overly concerned with what they wear :lol

We all know there are occasions where certain dress codes apply, so stick to that. But if a man is out and around doing normal, everyday things ie shopping, casual restaurants, running errands, I couldn't care less what they wear if they are clean.

The real question should be is it ok to wear a jersey you've custom ordered with your own name on it? I'd love to have a Spurs jersey with my last name and the number #19 on it but I'm not sure that I'd actually wear it out.

You should get it. And if it's clean (and fits well) you should wear it anywhere you want. I think you probably already know what places you go to that have a strict dress code.

Oh I'm definitely getting it for myself for Christmas. I'll eventually get Raiders and Cubs jerseys with the same.

I wont wear them to go out or anything. It's cool to go to a game or to relax and play something. That's about the only way I'd wear one in public.

It all depends on the setting. If you're going to a playoff party of course. If you're going to dinner at Mortons' not so much.

I would agree that there are certain times not to wear them....like when you walk into a hotel asking the manager for a job application wearing your Larry Johnson Chiefs gear, matching cap (sideways of course) and dollar store bling. :lol

Im against it. You wear those jerseys when youre a kid cuz you wanna be like that player when you grow up.

Team apparel is fine, but ditch the jerseys.

lol

obviously you don't wear it to formal places and events... but if you're going to the game, or going to watch the game at a buddy's house or a sports bar... I think it's more than appropriate.

I don't see anything wrong with that at all. Ironically, I just got back from running to a couple of errands and I wore my Duncan All-Star. I probably wear one once every couple of weeks when I am in the mood.

I hate jerseys. I hate the way they look and feel. I wear more Spurs shoes and t-shirts and beanies or hoodies, but not a jersey.

I can see framing one that is autographed, but that is it.

Now here is a perfect example of a bad time to wear a sports jersey:

Never wear a jersey when vandalizing cars after winning the Finals.
