Isn't he changing his running style this season? Or some shit like that. Too soon to tell, jury is still out.

The Texans actually had 3 great picks that year. 1. Mario, 3. Ryans, 4. Daniels. 2 have been pro bowlers and the other Defensive ROTY.

I would take him as a backup. He's a threat to take it to the house every time he touches it. And him just being on the field as a decoy opens up other things.

He was prettu good before getting hurt. Definitely not worth the #2 pick in the draft, though. I am sure the Saints would love to go back and grab Ngata.

IronMexican
08-24-2009, 11:03 AM
And I always laugh when I think about this.

Reggie was supposed to be the #1 pick, right? And everyone knew the Saints were trying to trade out of the #2 spot, but once Reggie got there, it was a god send. I was so pissed at the Texans passing up on Bush cause I wanted the Raiders to trade up to the #2 spot to land Vince:lmao

The Raiders still ended up with shit in Micheal Huff, but it's a lot easier on the franchise to hit and miss on the Safety spot than a QB. JaMarcus still has to pro himself this year anyways.

He hasn't lived up to the #2 pick...BUT he did score 9 TD's in 10 games. I'll take that any year over the course of 16 games.

He is a guy I would definitely want on my team.

so you guys are figuring out how the nfl draft works or what

Wait, so now the mookie crew is full of drafting experts?

Hopefully it'll be as good as the lesson the Mookie Crew gave me about recruiting that was completely untrue.

IronMexican
08-25-2009, 02:44 PM
I wouldn't say Bush sucks. He definitely wasn't worth where he was drafted. But I wouldn't say he sucks. He still could be a game-changer every time he touches the ball and is probably right behind Hester and Cribbs in regards to Kick/Punt returners.

BUMP
08-25-2009, 05:42 PM
Mex is right.

He's not the reincarnation of Gale Sayers or "the best player to be drafted in the last 10-15 years" like ESPN made him out to be. There's no way he would've lived up to that kind of hype. But he is still in the upper echelon of players when it comes to gamebreaking abilities

I agree with the 2 posts above me. Reggie Bush is a shitty full-time running back, but as a multi-purpose guy in the mold of Dave Meggett or Eric Metcalf, he's still pretty damn valuable to a team.

Is he a bust considering the hype? Yes. But he doesn't "suck" and he's still a threat to score every time he touches the ball.

exactly, just b/c he isn't what people want him to be doesn't make him a bust let alone a bad player. he's a good player, when healthy, far better than vyoung. i agree though, the 2nd pick was too high...more of a mid to later first rounder.

btw, whats up with lol USC and lol USC players in the nfl? makes it look like the thread starter doesn't follow or know anything about the NFL or CFB.

Reggie Bush is still an excellent all-purpose player. He's a decent change of pace back (as we saw when he was paired with Deuce), he's an excellent receiver, and a very good return man.

He just isn't a full-time back. He can't handle a 20-25 carry load. Which most of us thought he could. He's a bust considering the hype, but he's still a pretty good player. Any team would love to have his home run hitting abilities.

Really, all three, Williams, Bush and Young continue to be overrated.

Its stupid.

But, if used right Bush could be a weapon, just not in the mold of Gayle Sayers like everyone said he was going to be.
