Mafia is easily the most underrated game ever.

Oblivion

A game that won several GotY awards is underrated? I mean, I found it boring, but Oblivion got a ton of awards.

My list:

Psychonauts - Just play it.
Carnage Heart - One of the best games I've ever played to this day. Steep learning curve but totally, completely worth it to sink 50+ hours into the game.
X-com: UFO Defense - Only because of the lack of notoriety about it today, it's STILL fun and came out when "VGA" was considered awesome graphics.
Winning Eleven 9 - Critically well received, but not many people in the US realize that this is the greatest sports game ever created, bar none.

More as I think of them.

Arx Fatalis. It came out just after Morrowind so not many people have heard about it.

Tachyon Fringe. Space fighting game with Voice acting by Bruce Campbell, what could be better?

Asherons Call. Probably the best PvP in any MMO I have ever played.

Psychonauts, Okami, Shadow of the Colossus.

Psychonauts, Okami, Shadow of the Colossus.

Yeah, Okami and SotC were also both critically well reviewed but did not pull a lot of sales in. Sad. :(

Nice call though. We should do lunch sometime. :lol ;)

WE7 and WE9 are my favorite sports games of all-time. I like WE7 slightly more since that was the first time I realized gameplay in a soccer game could be virtually perfect. WE9 brought in online mode for PS2 so that was a big evolution in the franchise. Too bad the XBOX 360 renditions have been slightly above average, with horrendous online modes.

I'll add The Darkness, skate., and Prey to the list.

Didn't feel enough people played it.

And I loved Winning Eleven 9's gameplay, but the lack of clubs hurt it a lot.

Psychonauts, Okami, Shadow of the Colossus.

Shadow of the Colossus is the most overrated underrated video game ever, if that makes any sense. Crappy controls, bland graphics. It's basically a Zelda game, but take out everything except horse riding and boss battles.

That’s just my opinion though.

Beyond Good and Evil is an underrated game.

Okay, I could understand it affecting the overall immersion factor a little bit, but how could you possibly say it hurt it -a lot-?

Were you the one who was accusing me of only liking games that have stellar graphics? I'm not sure if that was you....

I said you seemed like a graphics head.

And it kind of sucked not being able to play with all the major clubs. I still bought it over Fifa on the ps2, though.

I liked Jet Moto on the PS1 alot. And, surprisingly enough, The Incredibles on PS2 was surprisingly FUN AS HELL.

I'm pretty sure I sound about 12 years old atm, though.

Ice Hockey from the original nintendo. The game is so classic it's just called "Ice Hockey". Bad ass gameplay and the thrill of starting fights with skinny little twig dudes against the slow fat guys was awesome.

I don't think it was "underrated" though, technically. It was critically acclaimed. But not enough people have played it.
