Fake, but funny nevertheless.

Let us know when you have a Queef caught by infrared.

I'll could be real, but I doubt it. Primarily because it's too focused. Farts are mostly methane gas, which is a very strong greenhouse gas. It absorbs the background IR. It probably would appear black even though it should be warmer than the surrounding air. You would think it would appear bright, but it is blocking brighter IR from the background. His pants would have to be tight against his ass there as not to dirsperse it much, but it doesn't look like they're in his butt cheeks.

I doubt the company authorized the release of that either. Someone probably played with a company camera, still having the logo someplace. I know about FLIR because it's one of the places in Oregon I applied to work for.

Farts are mostly nitrogen, with very little methane - I doubt it'd show on IR.

That depends on a persons metabolism and diet.

True - as in you can have from little methane to none. I believe at least 1/2 of all people don't even have methane present in their gas, partly due to genetics as well.

:lol

I would like to see the thermal radiation that comes off Kori's head when she has to read 200 PM's every night!

Farts are mostly methane gas, which is a very strong greenhouse gas.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flatulence

Composition of flatus gases

Nitrogen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nitrogen), the main constituent of air (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air), is the primary gas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gas) released during flatulence, along with carbon dioxide (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_dioxide), which is present in higher quantities in those who drink carbonated beverages (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbonated_beverages) regularly. The lesser component gases methane (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methane) and hydrogen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen) are flammable (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flammable), and so flatus containing adequate amounts of these can be ignited (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fart_lighting). However, not all humans produce flatus that contains methane. For example, in one study of the faeces (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faeces) of nine adults, only five of the samples contained archaea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archaea) capable of producing methane.[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flatulence#cite_note-0) Similar results are found in samples of gas obtained from within the rectum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rectum).
The gas released during a flatus event frequently has an unpleasant odor which mainly results from low molecular weight (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molecular_weight) fatty acids (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatty_acids), such as butyric acid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butyric_acid), (rancid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rancidity) butter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butter) smell) and reduced (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redox) sulphur (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sulphur) compounds, such as hydrogen sulphide (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen_sulphide) (rotten egg smell) and carbonyl sulphide (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbonyl_sulphide). All of these components are the result of protein (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protein) breakdown. The incidence of odoriferous compounds in flatulence emissions increases from herbivores (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbivores), such as cattle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cattle), through omnivores (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omnivores) to carnivorous (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnivorous) species (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Species), such as cats (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat).[citation needed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)] Such odor can also be caused by the presence of large numbers of microflora bacteria (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacteria) and/or the presence of faeces in the rectum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rectum).
The major components of the flatus, which are odorless, by percentage are:[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flatulence#cite_note-1)

Nitrogen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nitrogen) - 20% - 90%
Hydrogen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen) - 0% - 50%
Carbon Dioxide (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_Dioxide) - 10% - 30%
Oxygen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxygen) - 0% - 10%
Methane (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methane) - 0% - 10%

Definitely fake. Moderately amusing.
We tried doing that on the FLIR on the aircraft I used to work on and nothing showed up

this really has been turned into a study of the methane concentration in a fart
