A friend gave it to me for my 10th birthday. At the time, I thought it was pretty great. Not so much now. Although the special effects were amazing for that time period.

Jurassic Park was on HBO in HD last week and I remember still gettin chills during the scene with the glass of water rippling. GREAT fucking movie.
Edit: Not to mention, the score for the movie is phenomenal.

Damn, compared to what they can do today those special effects seem prehistoric.

Strange. I think Jurassic Park still looks pretty phenomenal. I mean, the dinosaurs basically look real. Can't get any better than "real", IMO.

I was thinkin the same thing. CGI nowadays looks too cartoonish. The animatronics were pretty mind-blowing back then...and they still look pretty good today.

I'm constantly telling anybody who'll listen that todays movies rarely look as good as JP from 1993.
Can they do more today with CGI? Sure. That doesn't mean it always looks better. Just ask the CGI cartoon that starred as Neo in the last two Matrix movies.

Kurt Russell is one of my favorite actors.
I loved him in Soldier, one of the most underrated movies in his career.

I had known that fight scene was famous... but I never thought I had seen the movie.
I now remember I saw it when I was little. I remember because the ending blew my mind because it was the first time I'd ever seen the good guy die at the end of a movie.

I'm not posting a youtube, but the best movie scene of all time is in To Kill a Mockingbird when all the
Republi- err uneducated , white-trash, racists- are about to fuck up Atticus and Scout stops it.
