Just listened to to it. Jay z has an awful ear for beats lately. These are some of kanye's worst beats. He experimented way too much on this one... and how does he say "Death to autotune" when he goes ahead and uses it in the album!!

"Thank you" is a real nice song tho

The only person who still thinks Jay-Z is any good is Jay-Z. If he woulda stayed retired after The Black Album and not released those last few turds, people would still have the mistaken belief that he's one of the best rappers ever.

yea he only set the bar too high for himself when he said that shit! I need to go back and listen to Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint 1 to wash my ears out after hearing this garbage.

You see this with all of the top rapper at some point in time. Once they run out of shit to say, they simply start spewing garbage just to make money, because they can.

Well, in the case of Jay-Z, it was more like, releasing a decent album, then releasing piles of shit to make money, then releasing a couple decent albums before finally going back to shit-for-money.

jayz hasn't been good since the black album. I used to big a big jayz fan...blueprint 1, black album, in my lifetime vol.1. He's fuckin garbage now though-the only rapper/s who put out good shit everytime they do put out stuff is OUTKAST. They take their time unlike people like jayz who will push push push shit out as fast as he can. Outkast cds only come every few years-they put time into their albums. As of now they are not making anything but my money is definitely on andre and big boi will get together and put out another ground breaking album. Also, em had a nice little comeback w/ relapse. I'm definitely excited to hear relapse 2.

Are all of the songs on the CD about Obama, Bill O'Reilly, and Rush Limbaugh?

Jay Z has not been good EVER.

Move overrated "rapper" of all time.

"But, but, but, he's so rich and such a good entrepreneur that he makes a vodka!"

Anyone who considers Jay-Z a top rapper of all time should put a * besides his name and list all the artists and lyrics he's ripped off over his career.

Overrated....No fucking doubt.

Not been good ever.....No
Listen to the black album, if you don't think that's a damn good rap album your crazy. Blueprint 1 ain't too shabby either. Just because he has been shit the last 5 or so years doesn't erase the fact he made some good cds

from blueprint...em and jayz at the top, tho em is still just a way better rapper as you can hear in the song

Jay-Z and Eminem both suck. I will take MF Doom or Talib Kweli or Bone Thugs N Harmony over either of them anyday.

And especially over attractive women that come on to you.

You ever hear the song "Old School" with Talib Kweli? I love the beat on that.

Very true, rap has been on a downward spiral since those two died. Like someone said Outkast are one of the few decent rappers to come out with good music even Eminem sometimes surprises with good lyrics but the list is too short and Jay-Z has always been borderline shit, he just crossed the line after the black album.

He is. Most people here are just simple minded idiots on the subject of hip-hop.

He's still shit and the album title isn't even original. Hip-Hop died a long time ago.

You're even more original, by taking something that Nas said and trying to run with it, dipshit. :td

A lot of what people call "hip hop" these days don't even qualify as hip hop IMO. Most of it is more like "pop" music now (Lil Wayne, T.I., Kanye, etc...) Some of it is still good music, but quite a bit of it is lame. There is still good hip hop out there. Some of it is harder to find because they get overshadowed by all the "pop" stars (Talib Kweli, Mos Def, etc...), or it goes over people's heads and is misinterpreted incorrectly (Eminem, Lupe Fiasco, etc...), or people hate on them because they aren't "underground" or "sold out" (Jay-Z, Nas, etc...) which is the douchiest bunch of bullshit I've ever heard as a reason to say "this rapper sucks". That last group of people can go fuck themselves with a .12 gauge shotgun (and there is a shitload of them on this very forum). You dumbasses know who you are.

Jay-Z is most definitely one of the best. The Blueprint 3 is a nice piece of work that grows on you, just like the Black Album.
