Houston's win coupled with Chicago's loss to lowly Expos means that Houston is now 1st in wild card race....UNFREAKINGBELIEVABLE!

Simma down.

The Astros will drop at least 2 of the next 3 and San Francisco will take sole possession.

Book it.

Against the Pirates? Doubt it.

I am worried about playing the Giants and Cards though.

On the road? Astros are done. Nice run.

Sequ, Astros will win 2 of 3 at Pittsburgh. Marlins and Cubs play each other 4 times next, so I hope they split. Giants are toast...they suck. The Cards will be resting players by the time Houston plays them so they will not beat Houston more than 1 in 3.

Keep in mind,

Starting 3rd Baseman, Out
Starting Shortshop, Out
Wade Miller, Injured
Andy Pettite, Injured

The question is, can the bullpen stay healthy and not implode, and can Clemens still be the workhorse for another month.

Astros have 5 games in Pittsburgh over the next four days, including a doubleheader tonight. Need to keep this hot streak alive and take at least 4 of 5 before they start playing the good teams again.

I still don't have faith in our bullpen.

Keep in mind,

Starting 3rd Baseman, Out

I will take Mike Lamb at 3rd base any day. As far as pitching, the youngsters are doing fine right now, but we will have to see if they can keep it up. The bad news is the Astros got Redding back and he will start tonight.:baby

I'm really liking Brandon Backe right now. He reminds me a bit of Mike Hampton in his prime.

They lost... The streak ends at 12.

And in 90 minutes, they can start a new one.

The Astros are in 1st place...oh wait, they just woke up. The Cubs are back on top! As it will be at the end of the season too.
