No idea; heard a rumor about the quote about serving the President; Googled it, watched, posted it.

Milton Friedman & Ronald Reagan could have written it together, and I'd still raise my eyebrows.

conservatives consider a celebrity to be a bottom feeder. (the ones with the message they don't like, that is)

may be a waste of a good eyebrow lift.

The President serves US, not the other way around.

You've got one group of people fawning over the President like he's some kind of prophet, you've got another group convinced he's evil incarnate (or worse, socialist) and has the power to control the minds of our children, and you've got plenty of level headed people in between who don't get any air-time. I love this country.

Please let us in on the level headed thinking.

You're not capable of understanding. You're a lunatic and a social parasite. I have no interest in attempting to have a rational discussion with you. I'd prefer you drown in your own drool. Have a nice day.

It's a Harpo (Oprah Winfrey) Production.

Goes hand in hand with the proposed curriculum sent out for the upcoming Obama School Indoctrination Session on the 8th.

Write a letter to yourself asking what you can do for President Obama? WTF?

I think you can infer my position on pledging allegiance to Obama by rereading the first part of my initial post, but I was not limiting my statement to this particular video. Just a general observation.

very good post.

I'd like to add that in contrast to Bush's term. This time, the level-headed people are in control.

But, this particular video doesn't tend to push opinion to the middle; now, does it?

It's this type of sycophantic nonsense that is polarizing the nation. If Obama is truly a humble centrist, he needs to address all the Obamaniacs and tell them to shut the fuck up. But, I think he believes it.

How else do you explain the total disconnect between reality and the words coming out of his and Biden's mouths lately?

:lmao Such realistic expectations. He'd be the first to ever do that, and he's not the first President to have idolizers.

It wouldn't be all THAT polarizing if you guys didn't care SO GOD DAMN MUCH about CELEBRITIES.

But I guess I'll agree if we can also get Republican leaders to tell Glenn Beck to STFU. Deal? Or is that different somehow?

If these kool-aid drinking celebrities really wanted to help America, they would shut the fuck up about preaching to us on how we can serve Obama and donate millions of dollars to charities and non-profit organizations. How does not using plastic bags help America? Or owning an "obnoxious car"? Using less bottled water? And how is Demi Moore going to free 1 million people from slavery? Is Eva Longoria really going to plant 500 trees? If you want to help America, volunteer your time by reading to blind people, old people, or little kids. Or be in the big brother/big sister progam. Robin Wright Penn was the only one that made sense in the video. We are not suppose to serve Obama. He is suppose to serve us. People elected him to be the president of America. He serves Americans. Not the other way around. Mindless dumb-asses.:lol

Yeah, it is different.

Glenn Beck is being paid for his opinion. Free enterprise, baby.

But it's divisive, no? I thought that was the problem you had with the video. Are you saying it's only a problem because they presumably did it for free? That's an interesting argument...

With the exception of Strahan, most of these people simply said:

"I've been a real douche for the past eight years. Now that we have a president with a (D) after his name, I pledge to be a better person and his loyal servant."

My personal pledge is to turn over the names of my nieghbors who don't want to" serve the president"to the white house........I assume my loyalty to
the president, will not go unappreciated.

I think he and clambake have applied for teachers positions when Van Jones opens his reducation schools to save children from their vastly inferior parents and shower their "love and wisdom" upon the little tykes, just to put them in the proper frame of mind.

...it was a read-along for kids to a Presidential speech on working hard and staying in school, but when have wing-nuts cared about reality?

Then why ask the kids "What do I do (Obama) that inspires you?" Obama is making the asumption he inspires kids. Give us a break.

Obama needs to pledge "I won't keep promises I can't keep"

Opps. Unemployment is above his pledge.

Opps. I will never push through a bill the American people did not read first.

Opps. I wil close the Guantanamo Bay detention center in the first 100 days of my presidency.

Opps When there is a bill that ends up on my desk as the president, you the public will have five days to look online and find out what's in it before I sign it.

Opps. When I'm president, I will go line by line to make sure that we are not spending money unwisely."

Opps.“I happen to be a proponent of single-payer universal healthcare coverage. That’s what I’d like to see.”

Then in January, 2008, Obama claimed in a nationally televised debate:

"I never said that we should try to go ahead and get single-payer."

Give us a break

I think the sad but funny thing about the whole video is that it shows how stupid and ignorant those celebrities are. It shows how out of touch they are with reality. Americans don't serve the president. The president serves America and Americans. It's sad they don't know that.
