Scheduling conflicts will force former light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson out of his upcoming grudge match against Rashad Evans at UFC 107 from the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tenn., on Dec. 12.

No new date is known at this time for when the pair will settle their score once and for all, but early 2010 now seems like the most likely possibility.

Vancouver Sun reports that “Rampage” will soon report for duty on the set of “The A-Team” for his role as B.A. Baracus in the upcoming feature film.

He was recently in town to discuss the production schedule, which is apparently a six-week commitment that will prevent him from being fully prepared to compete in front of his hometown crowd (Memphis) for the first time ever inside the Octagon.

Company president, Dana White, who more was more than likely banking on Jackson to make a big splash at the box office, is unhappy with the news.

Here’s a snip:

“Guess what Rashad Evans is thinking about right now. He’s thinking about beating your f**king ass. He’s not sitting around thinking about how him and his mom used to watch the f**king Love Boat together and he wants to get the role of Isaac the bartender.”

Jackson recently completed taping for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter (10) on Spike TV, which is set to debut after UFC Fight Night 19 on Sept. 16. He served as a coach opposite his new-found arch enemy, Evans.

This is not the first time in 2009 Jackson didn’t stick to the script.

Remember that he passed on the opportunity try and pry the 205-pound title from newly-minted division kingpin, Lyoto Machida, opting to take on the recently dethroned “Sugar” instead. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua happily stepped in for Jackson and is set to battle the “Dragon” at UFC 104 on Oct. 24.

Timing is certainly not on his side the year, which is something he will have to work on while on the silver screen along with castmates Liam Neeson (Col. John “Hannibal”) and Bradley Cooper (Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck) in the 20th Century Fox-produced movie. The “Murdock” character has yet to be cast.

“A-Team,” while certainly the most high profile, is not the first acting gig for Jackson. He has appeared in “Confessions of a Pit Fighter,” “Bad Guys” and “The Midnight Meat Train,” as well as an episode of “The King of Queens.”

With Jackson now scratched, UFC 107 will feature a main event between lightweight division champion BJ Penn defending his title against number one division contender Diego Sanchez, as well as a heavyweight showdown between former champion Frank Mir and Cheick Kongo.

Damn, I was really looking forward to that fight too.

AHH Fuck. I posted about this in the News and notes thread, but held off on making a thread hoping it was just rumor. I love Page but Seriously WTF dude. You made the committment to coach TUF 10 as part of this feud with Rashad, to fight him at UFC 107, in your hometown, no less and now you bail so you can be in the A-Team movie. Not cool..

Unless I'm missing something it's just gonna get postponed for a couple events right? Please tell me that's all there is to it.

In all likelihood yes but you never know with these things. If Rashad gets a fight in between now and then or an injury were to occur. Basically it is just bad timing as this was gonna all be co-promoted with the TUF show, now it's a mess...

Why? Their fight is still happening...just a few months later. And TUF 10 is unaffected...

Seems like a easy solution is to put this on the big Jan 2nd card. There's been no rumors of a main event and alot of big names are fighting between now and then. The card could be Rampage vs Rashad, GSP vs. #1 Contender, Hendo vs. Marquardt, HW #1 Contender fight. 107 is already PPV worthy with BJ vs. Diego and Mir vs Kongo. I think it was overkill to have an early Dec card in Memphis have a title fight plus Rampage vs Rashad.

cause part of the fun of watching TUF is watching the coaches go off on each other. It just sucks that we gotta wait a bit longer for the fight.

The speculation is over.

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson (30-7 MMA, 5-1 UFC) will not be fighting Rashad Evans (13-1-1 MMA, 8-1-1 UFC) at UFC 107 in December.

While the potential for Jackson to withdraw from the event has been discussed for weeks, Evans today confirmed in an interview with Bruce Buffer that the fight has been delayed until at least 2010.

The interview aired on today's episode of "It's Time" on the Sherdog Radio Network.

"It's definitely off for the 12th," Evans said. "It's just disappointing because as a fighter you get your mind wrapped around when you're going to have to fight. Then you kind of just gear up toward it and put everything in place for that time. You take care of a lot of things you need to take care of so when you're in camp you don't have to worry about it. To find out its not going to be happening when you want it to happen is always a little bit of a letdown."

While multiple outlets have reported on the potential for Jackson to take on the role of B.A. Baracus in a feature version of "The A-Team," Evans said until recently he believed it wasn't going to happen.

"I heard a little bit about it at the last UFC, 102, and (UFC president) Dana (White) said he was working to resolve the issue, and he was pretty confident that he was going to have some kind of resolution by the end of the week," Evans said. "But then things must have took a turn for the worse and it wasn't going to be resolved. The end result was him definitely pulling out."

While White made his feelings on the subject obvious at a pre-UFC 102 press conference, Evans echoed the sentiments that fighters should stick to what they do best.

"I would stick with my obligations to do the fight (if I was in the same situation)," Evans said. "I know that he has an amazing opportunity to do this acting role, but then at the same time, at the end of the day he's still going to be just a fighter. He's not going to be an actor."

As opposing coaches on the upcoming tenth season of "The Ultimate Fighter," Evans and Jackson were supposed to clash at the conclusion of the series. Evans said he still believes his next fight will be with Jackson, he's just not sure when it will be.

"I'm pretty positive that it's going to be my next fight," Evans said. "They haven't nailed down any dates, but they did say it was going to be after the New Year. I think they were waiting to speak with Quinton's guys and find out exactly when exactly he feels he should be ready. They just want to get it done and over with, and they're just trying to work with him and see what they can do."

With the official removal of Evans vs. Jackson from the card, UFC 107 now includes:

•Champ B.J. Penn vs. Diego Sanchez (for lightweight title)*
•Cheick Kongo vs. Frank Mir*
•Thiago Alves vs. Paulo Thiago*

still a pretty good card without rampage and rashad
