well I figure you got a few trilogies or more that are worth mentioning. Idiana jones, 007 movies, star wars, the matrix, lord of the rings, Bourne, Batman, spiderman, shrek, xmen, and im probably forgetting quite a few. well id say

1-The matrix trilogy (just so original and groundbreaking-and some will say the second and third were let downs i highly disagree. Reloaded still to this day has the best action sequence in the history of cinema. A 45 minute masterpiece starting with the stair scene and going into the crazy freeway chase...it will be hard to top
2-star wars-first 3 grew up on-if second 3 were as good then it would be 1
3-indiana jones-first 3 are just so fun and great adventure movies.
4-Lord of the Rings-All 3 were awesome movies, peter jackson really did a great job putting tolkiens books to the screen
5-007. I love bond. Theres been quite a few bad ones, but some of the awesome ones are just great action movies. Thunderball, russia with love, goldeneye, casino royale, goldfinger, live and let die, etc. None are just absolutely great but a ton are really good.

pending-Batman (nolans batmans could go up really high on my list if he makes another really good movie-like 1-3 depending on how good it is)

Notes-Spiderman movies blow....honestly sam raimi did an awful job imo. Topher grace as venom----hhhahahahhhhahahha. Those movies are so overrated. Xmen, please,2nd is okay, not much justice in any of them. I actually liked the wolverine side movie more than any of those...which means they werent good, ha.

Since the others have been fucked up... (Godfather III sucked) Star wars... Indi with Crystal skull... matrix was 1 movie and then.....

Has to be LOTR at least until they fuck it up with the Hobbit... :)

wow, definite brainfart on the godfather series. i'd probably put that in...well prob 5. First and 2nd wre amazing but idk im just not one of those guys who thinks godfathers you should bow down to, yes they are awesome movies but i still would put the trilogies i listed in front of them. LOTR can't move closer than i listed it because it just dragged big time in the 3rd-especially at the end. Really bad ending to those imo. Still awesome movies, i just would take matrix because of the concept-music-atmosphere-and yea action when it comes down to it. If batman 3 by nolan is awesome im definitely going to revise my list. Love the first two-i like begins better cuz i think thats the best origin story around. Dark Kniight obviously has one of the best villains ever-heath as joker-wow. Him and darth vader are the best villains...and maybe like No country for old mens bad guy- what was it chigur?

some more:

Mariachi trilogy (Desperado, Once Upon a Time in Mexico)
Alien trilogy (I think it had 4, though)
The Naked Gun trilogy
Blade trilogy
National Lampoon Vacation trilogy (seriously, you can't count any of the other ones)
Evil Dead trilogy
Toy Story trilogy (coming soon)

but my vote goes to trilogy of movies with Clint Eastwood as The Man With No Name.
A Fistful of Dollars
A Few Dollars More
The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

Matrix Revolutions automatically eliminates the Matrix trilogy from contention.

Dirty Harry, Magnum Force, The Enforcer, Sudden Impact & The Dead Pool have to be up there, but nothing beats the Night of the Living Dead/Dawn of the Dead/Day of the Dead/Land of the Dead series.
Oddly enough, all the Jaws movies were on one of the Cinemax channels back to back the other day. Those films really got terrible after the 2nd one.

Damn, you guys are sleeping.
Rocky
Lethal Weapon
Predator
Star Wars
Rambo
Death Wish
Revenge of the Nerds
Nightmare on Elm Street
Silence of the Lambs

-Rocky series was good except for Rocky V. It sucked.
-Lethal Weapon series is one of the best. Can't believe I forgot it. :bang
-Only good Predator movie was the 1st one. The rest are shit.
-Star Wars is still my favorite.
-First Blood is good, Rambo (IV) is good. II and III are not good.
-Death Wish? Once again, only good one is the 1st.
-"All jocks think about it sports. All nerds think about is sex." That line makes the entire Nerds series for me.
-The Nightmare series is plagued with so many shitters that it doesn't rank too high with me.
-Manhunter & Silence Of The Lambs are good movies. Hannibal and Red Dragon are purely horrible.

I did like the one line in the end, when that Don King wannabe kept saying "Touch me and I'll sue," And Rocky knocked him the fuck out and was like "Sue me for what?" cause his white ass was broke...:lol

I'm glad the Jason Bourne series was mentioned. In terms of consistent greatness in each film, probably one of the strongest trilogies out there.

totally agree, and unlike a lot of other series it seems like each film got better and better. The last one was my fav and probably one of the best spy/action movies ever. I'm glad they're making a 4th

Definitely forgot about back to the future-great/fun series

Die hards should be up there also just for the first one alone-just a badass movie...2nd was alright, 3rd very good, and 4th was entertaining

Silence of the lambs movies were good but imo hannibal killed those-movie was dumb

Terminator def should be up there except for the 3rd was pretty silly

Blade fell off big time after the first

I agree that Rocky V sucked, Stallone even recognises this. Shame really, the idea of him coaching someone to the top could of been a good movie IMO.

( I kid. Although I do love the first film of that series.)

Back to the Future, because as a kid its the first time I could remember watching a movie that dropped a colorful word. (come on it came out in the mid 80s...)

Indiana Jones. Because IMO, its one of the most well written series of adventure movies. The second one was mediocre, but 1 and 3 were just overwhelmingly fantastic that it makes you wish they had done more in the era of nazi germany.

I think people's expectations for the 4th film were too high. I saw the movie as a passing of the torch by Harrison Ford and I enjoyed it.
Granted the film was not epic like the previous three but they don't make movies like they used to.

True- although I don't know what I would have done instead.

( Other than the obvious of leaving the trilogy a trilogy.)

Guy Ritchie's "trilogy" in my opinion because he uses the same formula, but its great (not the greatest, but it does deserve mentioning) nonetheless: Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, and RocknRolla

The Greatest Trilogy Eva has to be The Evil Dead

....alien 3 sucked
