Joshe Homme from Queens of the Stone Age, Dave Grohl from Nirvana/Foo Fighters, and John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin.

They're gonna be playing in Austin next month and I'm wondering if anybody's going. Should be a good show.

If you are going and you wanna meet up let me know.

That band already exists, they're called Queens of the Stone Age. And 55 bucks to see them? I'll pass. Heard it sold out in 10 minutes though so there is some hype going into this show.

jman3000

This is probably a one time tour. I'd say it's worth the 55.

I have a ticket J so hit me up man. I have heard some clips and WOW its like a Led Zep queens fusion!! This is the closest im going to get to see Led Zep and Imposter 55 to see QOTSA is WELL worth it. I would pay over 100 if I had to. J wouldnt it be bad ass if Eagles of Death Metal were opening up for Vultures. Have you heard of any opening acts? Seeing Grohl on drums will be the closest im coming to see Nirvana too. Should be a great fucking show!!!

I have to say NO on this.

This sounds more like a QOTSA meets Zep. Have you heard any clips of how they sound? They are only doing a few shows and selling out FAST so I think this will be sucessful.

I think I'd have to put Songs for the Deaf as their best album, though I love them all (and though my favorite song is on Lullabies to Paralyze). Grohl on drums = infinite win.

And you didn't ask me the second question, but I know someone who has Rated X.

jman3000

all rated r vinyl's are called rated x.

it's only limited edition insofar as they didn't make any of them. You won't find Rated R vinyl's because they don't exist.

I found one on ebay for like 20 bucks because the seller didn't know what he was selling. They normally go for over 40.

Rated R is my favorite because it's the most "out there" in terms of sound.

I actually found a self titled CD a few years ago at a Best Buy and snatched it up. Hard as hell to find.

jman3000

I would have been disappointed if they had played any covers from their old bands.

New band yes I suppose but not really. Everyone knows who Dave Grohl, John Paul Jones, and Josh Homme are.

If your a rock n roll fan that is.

For not even putting out a record yet they sold out in 10 mins from what I heard.

Sure evey rock fan is familiar with those names, everyone knows the guys from Chickenfoot too and I wouldn't blow 100 bucks to see them either.

and the 10 minute thing is what I had initally heard too, only to find out that there were still tickets on the Stubbs website days later. apprently a bunch of orders were cancelled because people were trying to buy a bunch at a time to scalp when the limit was supposed to be two.

humm well I didnt hear that. Ok you cant compare chickenfoot with bands like Nirvana, Zep, and even Foo Fighters.

I talked to a guy that was there from Scotland just to see John Paul Jones. Some Canadian guys there for Grohl on drums and Jones. Granted most are prob there for ACL anyways.

a bunch were available because people are too lazy to go to the fucking venue and buy tickets. The tix they had set aside for gate purchases weren't going as fast as the ones online, which went almost instantaneously. To sell the excess gate tickets they put a bunch of them online, but by that time it's too late.

Was this gig at a House of Bourgeois?
That might explain the excessive, unnecessarily high price tag for a ticket.
I hate going to shows at HOB. I always boycott them.
You pay more for the name on the building than you do for the band on the stage.

exactly. during the show every song sounded good... but when I got the cd it actually took a few listens to get into it. Bandoliers, New Fang, Culigulove, Spinning in Daphodiles, and Reptiles really grew on me. All in all it's very good imo.
