....yeah. A friend of mine just got a 360 and anytime the controller gets more than 2-3 feet away from the console it dies. Both of them do. They blink as if they are trying to re-connect which leads me to believe it can't be the batteries. Anyway, I've searched for a possible cause but havent been able to find anything.
Again, the only definite observation we've noticed : Controller moves more than 2-3 ft away from console, disconnects but doesnt lose power.
Move controller right up to console, re-connects. :bang
thoughts?

there is a small signal button in front of the 360 next to the power button , its kinda small, so find that and then find the little signal button on the 360 controller ...its on top of the controller small also. Press and hold both of them at the same time but have the 360 controller infront of the power button while your holding down the buttons. You should see the green lights on your console and controller reconnecting. Hold till about 4 or 5 seconds.
If that doesnt work , try with diffrent controllers or buy another one, could also be your console.
