Spurs great David Robinson becomes the latest on a healthy list of Basketball Hall of Famers from Texas or with Texas roots.

Slater Martin

Enshrined: 1982

Highlights: Led Longhorns to 1947 Final Four ... won five NBA titles with Minneapolis Lakers (1950, ’52-54), St. Louis Hawks (’58) ... seven-time All-Star.

Elvin Hayes

Enshrined: 1990

Highlights: Three-time All-American for Houston ... 81-12 NCAA record, two Final Fours ... 1978 NBA title with Bullets and Wes Unseld ... 12-time All-Star ... scored 27,313 points, ninth all-time.

Calvin Murphy

Enshrined: 1993

Highlights: Always with Rockets, one year in San Diego, 12 in Houston ... 89.2 percent on free throws ... 17,949 points.

George Gervin

Highlights: Starters Bobby Joe Hill, David Lattin, Orsten Artis, Willie Worsley and Harry Flournoy and entire ’66 champions helped transform college basketball.

Hakeem Olajuwon

Enshrined: 2008

Highlights: Led Houston to three straight Final Fours (1982-84) ... 12-time All-Star ... 1994 MVP and NBA champion 1994 and 1995 ... 3,830 blocks, first all-time.
