But, why speculate?

It's not about race...can we get past that and discuss the real issues?

Why was everyone pro Powell who is also black?

Bush 43 is undoubtedly an unremarkable simpleton, but I can't recall a time when he got called a "liar" by someone like a congressman.

he lied people died

Listing some African Americans who oppose Obama has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not some white Americans oppose him because of his race.

I don't think everyone was. But, what's your point?

Bush 43 is undoubtedly an unremarkable simpleton, but I can't recall a time when he got called a "liar" by someone like a congressman.
Really? You can't? I'm pretty sure he's been called a liar by every prominent Democrat in Congress.

And simply stating white people oppose Obama because he's black doesn't make it true.

What do you offer to support that assertion?

I'll take a stab at that.

Conservatives like him because he was a military man.

Liberals liked him because he was black.

Liberals continued to like him when they discovered he was liberal

Tell me. How many conservatives still like him?

I find it funny that it was his area of responsibility that leaked Plame's name, yet liberals still like him, and blame president Bush!

Damn libtards.

Sure, I'm sure about 15% democrats and about 5% republicans don't like him for that reason. However, at least 20% blacks are racist for breaking the norm of the voting democrat/republican split. They voted for him because of race!

These people don't matter, so it's not that big a deal, but it's troubling that they're trashing the crusade for moorish dignity by aligning themselves with a bunch of ignorant bigots. Their race deserves better than that.

I'll ask the same thing I asked ploto. What supports your assertion they're bigots?

I never asserted anything of the sort. I have never once stated that ALL white people who oppose Obama are racist, but I do know SOME white people who oppose Obama because of his race.

Yep, didn't about 95% of the black voters vote for Obama because McCain was white?

Many African Americans have voted FOR plenty of white candidates so they did not vote AGAINST McCain- they voted FOR Obama.

I do know some white people who have never and will never vote FOR an African American- so they voted as much AGAINST Obama as FOR McCain.

You know what, you're right. I'm sure there are plenty of whites that oppose Obama because of his race. Just as there are plenty of blacks that voted for him because of his race. I'm sorry I went off on that tangent because, it wasn't really the point of this thread.

My point was, if the majority of the opposition against Obama is race-based, it would -- I believe -- preclude those pictured from opposing him at all. I would think that if the people pictured at the beginning of this thread believed the significant reason Obama was not supported was because of his race, and they opposed him for other reasons, they would simply not engage.

But, I refuse to believe that more than just the normal amount of racism is involved. Obama's supporters simply throw out the race card because they can't respond to the legitimate criticisms of his character and his policies.

I don't think it helps your cause to keep making the claim that racism plays more than an insignificant part in this story. In fact, as WC bluntly points out, a disproportionate number of blacks voted for Obama. Many did so, simply because he was black.

How do I know? They said so.
