Apparently the ACTUAL event was so lame they had to pull out a photo from a decade earlier to try and pass for their event.

Liars suck.
Particularly pisses me off, because, as I've mentioned a couple of times, my Mom went and marched, and was all excited that she had been a part of "something."
She might have been.
But now, because of assholes; the "event" is not the story; the exaggeration of said event is.
Also looks as if significant "playing" of people is, indeed, afoot. One can believe that they are part of a "grassroots" effort, and feel they have made an independent choice; when, in fact, they are getting worked by powerful, knowledgeable, people.
Probably happening to both sides. Fuck religion being the opiate of the masses; it's politics.

Why they had to fluff up such a huge number to begin with is beyond me.

I would like to apologize for my statement 3 days ago...
"I seriously doubt there were over even a million. Maybe 100,000 or so. But, either way...there were plenty.
I heard Joe Gibbs telling reporters at one of his press conferences, he didn't know who these people were or why they came.
Methinks these people are right...DC is seriously out of touch with this country."
It looks like there were quite a few more...I screwed up.
I should probably start a thread to apologize to the board to see if I can save the "shreds of intellectual honesty and integrity" that I may have lost with this poor estimate.

Left-wing media is saying barely anyone was there, Far right-wing is saying the crowd toppled The Persian Army at the battle of Thermopylae.
Shocking news.
Having actually been to a tea party and seen the crowds with my own two eyes, I can tell you there are plenty of normal non-redneck non-bubba non-uneducated people that comprise a major portion of the overall crowd population.
When you hear information on these tea parties or whatever the official label is, FIRST think of the source of this information and their related agenda. Go out and experience these for yourself. Anything else is just words, bullshit.

How does the White House not inform itself of an event that draws that many people to its front door?

First of all, who first used the 12 year old photo? Was it a whacho pundit, a "tea-partyer", or a liberal to discredit the effort? Someone please answer that.
Now I do feel stupid myself for not spotting the inconsistencies. The "promise keeper" photo has a definite evening shadow and the 912 event has a shadow hours earlier, closer to noon. I usually spot such things.
Still, the valid photos show the event to be at least 500,000 people.

If you read the source article, that's how many stayed and marched after the event.
What if only one in ten who attended the event marched afterwards? I have never seen a long event where more than a small percentage stay and march afterwards. Have you?
approximately 60,000 to 70,000 people flooded Pennsylvania Ave, according to the Washington DC Fire Department.
The 912 event was not on Pennsylvania Ave. Just the march after was.

Cmon WC, why limit it to one in ten? Why not only one in a million?
Then you could estimate the march at 70,000,000 people! That's HUGE!

Ha. Ha...
I haven't a clue how many marched, but it wasn't anywhere near the full attendance. Just keep that in mind.
Would you march for a couple miles or more after being spending hours standing up, and probably thirsty? How many people you think do?
1 in 10 is an arbitrary number. I think it's safe to say no more than 1 in 3 marched, and that placed the crowd around 200,000. 1 in five, about 300,000.
By the looks of the valid photo, I'll stick with my original assessment of 600,000.

Doesn't that suggest that I considered the photo might have been taken before the full crowd arrived, or after some left?
Anyway, that's still at least 200,000 people in the photo, and I'm being conservative. If I figured the standard one person using up 2.5 sq. ft. I would use a number of at least 300,000.
My assessment of 600,000 people included the comments that the crowd goes all the way back to the Washington Monument. They do by that photo. Just that far back, they are in the street, not the park.

You don't care because you find conservative articles making corrections to the fabrications themselves, but when such a thing happens to liberals, they remain quiet.
It wouldn't surprise me one bit is a liberal pawned off the older photos as the 912 event to discredit them. It wouldn't be the first time such tactics were used.
Again, 2nd time I ask this. Anyone know the source of the fakes?

Because someone would be that conniving. Let's go through the thought process of such a liberal.
"I can't believe there were (x amount of people) at that Tea-Party rally. This is going to make myself and my party look bad. Not to mention my lord and savior Barack Obama. How can I deflect attention and discredit the rally? Hmmmm....thinking.....thinking....I've got it! I'll distribute a photo from 12 years ago of a LARGER crowd. That way it will get press and make the TeaBaggers look large in number and strong in cause. Then, when they least expect it, we'll have our liberal news outlets point out the picture is from 12 years ago. That'll work, I know it. It won't matter how long it takes someone to find out the picture is from 12 years ago either! I'm an effing genius."
