That's 3 times what you'd find in your average hunting rifle and 4 times what you'd find in a .357 mag.

When I was a kid, I went to a range with my brother who was sighting in a new scope. He said to me, 'want to shoot it,' and not knowing any better (and never having fired a rifle in my life) I said sure, put the scope up to my eye, and pulled the trigger. Didn't know anything about bracing it against my shoulder. I was lucky, only needed some stitches where the scope gashed the eyebrow, could have been much worse.
