Haltime, and iregardeless if SD comes back to beat Baltimore, Norvron has already pulled off two (more) classics. On the same series.
1. 1st and goal from the one foot line, game clock is stopped as zebras review to see if Vincent Jackson got in the endzone. (He didn't). However play clock is merely frozen, not reset to full 45 seconds as it's considered the same play. That's the rule.
So play clock is set to start at 12 seconds, game clock is at 19 seconds. All kinds of options here as ball is at one foot line. Try one pass on first down as an incomplete will only use up 5-6 seconds? Or just try to slam it in immediately on 1st down with a QB sneak, knowing if Balti stuffs it the clock will probably run out. Oh well, Phillup Rivers is 6-5 after all. Or both, try one or two passes then go with the QB sneak.
Nope, Norvron fails to notice the play clock is at 12 seconds and so the Chargers saunter up to the line and fail to get the play off on time and get penalized -5 yards. :rollin
(QB Rivers should have noticed too, will be interesting to see what he says.)
2. They try two lame pass attempts, incomplete. Still 10 seconds left 3rd down.
Take one more stab at the endzone with a pass, right?
Norvron does not attempt a 3rd down play and instead boots a field goal. :wow:wow
:lol
While you don't want to face the Chargers roster, if you're an opponent can you dream of a worse NFL head coach to face then Norvron?
