He may not be the bust he seemed like he was going to be.

Made some very big plays in both games this season, great in coverage, and is actually tacking well, which has been his worst problem. He is starting to look like the safety that some people felt he had potential to be... a hard hitting Ed Reed. Not saying he has come that far, but he looks like a Pro Bowl safety so far this year. And considering the way it took a few years before Asomugha became the shut-down corner he has turned into... you never know.

I think the Raiders really screwed him up early on by putting him at SS and expecting him to be a run stopper. Especially since despite being a good hitter, his normal tackling fundamentals have always been somewhat suspect. But it seems like he has worked on that, and going back to FS, plus having a much better coach/def coordinator has helped a lot.

Playing real good. Hopefully he lives up to some of that potential.

Don't forget Reed, Dawkins, Hope, and Griffin. AFC has some really good safeties this year.

Maybe that 2006 safety class isn't all that bad.
