(Sept. 21) -- Michelle Obama has had a strong influence on some important decisions in her husband's political career, says a new book about the first couple's marriage, according to the New York Daily News (http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2009/09/20/2009-09-20_obama_didnt_think_so_on_his_yes_we_can.html).
In 'Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage,' due out Tuesday, Christopher Andersen writes that the first lady squashed the idea of Hillary Rodham Clinton as Barack Obama's vice president.
"Do you really want Bill and Hillary just down the hall from you in the White House?" she reportedly told her husband. "Could you live with that?"
