yeah, all us skins fans hate the snyderatto alliance,

but this clip on Redskins.com is great in game stuff.

Zorn is the man, and if we only had some Hogs on dat line...if only.

Barring a miracle rise of his level of play, this better be the last year of Jason Campbell. The guy has shown me nothing on why he is a legit starting qb. Time to find a qb if this experiment fails yet again this season.

campbell hasn't been stellar, but he pretty much has done what's been asked of him. he's had a below average line, midget receivers, and a coach who doesn't encourage the downfield passing game - don't really know what anybody else expects of him.

Redskin fans need to realize finally that JC will never be anything other than an extremely average QB at best. He is definitely not the man of the future for this team. I'm in favor of benching him for the balance of the season and seeing where Todd Collins can take them. Otherwise this season will be long, painful and fruitless in the end.

now that is fairly ridiculous, we know what collins is, and it's a mediocre to decent back-up.

yes, he had that hot 3 game stretch to close out '07 (anybody remember how dead his arm looked in the playoff game?). but he's 37 now, not to mention that collins had about 6 years experience in the al saunders offense...this isn't it.

the ONLY way washington has a great season is if campbell puts it together and plays to his athletic abilities. it really doesn't matter if collins is the better QB, because we know collins doesn't have the talent to make this team much better than it is. he's basically a less athletic version of brunell (you really want brunell back?).

like it or not, the higher ceiling that campbell brings is the only chance that the Skins make it through the NFC East. it may not be a good chance, but it's better than the 0% chance that they compete with collins.

just gotta get past these sacraficial lambs...detroit, tampa, chiefs...

that monday nighter vs philly should tell the true tale.

JC would have to look totally awful for Zorn to pull him...even then, i think their fate is sealed and it is a package deal. snyder might drop the axe if we get embarrassed vs philly...but other than that...i expect 7-9 to 9-7 year and no playoffs...

somebody just has to kill vinny and kick the shit out of snyder...it's the only way.

Ridiculous is thinking that JC is gonna get better, he tries too hard not to make mistakes, thats why we never see multiple catches by more than 2 recievers..Collins while he is no saviour at least gets the offense going and spread out.

We're fucked either way at QB so I'm not going to get into the debate of Campbell vs Collins. JC has at least at times shown flashes but so far this year what I've seen has been worse than any of his previous years.

Zorn is a fucking horrible playcaller I can't believe he didn't take the fg. You're in the 1st quarter you take the points. That's after calling the halfback pass last week in goal line situation - fucking retarded playcalling.

All is not lost Redskins fans. I know alot of you guys prob want to mail it in and jump ship, but remember that we (Ravens) lost to a winless Miami team two years ago. Sure it cost Billick his job, but the next season we were playing in the AFC title game so. Take what you want from that. Zorn probably needs to be shown the door though.

well, the Redskins' problems extend far beyond the coach, they are a dysfunctional organization overall.

i'm not convinced that zorn won't be a good head coach someday. i can see teh reasoning behind almost every decision on its face, but no matter what he does, it always comes up snake eyes. he'll need a Belichek-Cleveland type reset to ever put it together.

thanks for the kind words florige, but as K-State said, the problem is systemic and it starts at the top.

i want snyder in the box on game days and other than that, just signing checks.

i would love for vinnie to be shitcanned TODAY, and throw power and big bucks at any GM worth a shit, will Casserly come back? and let him take over...

maybe then we can hire a top notch coach (i feel no coach with any self respect is coming through the doors of redskins park with vinnie still running the show...it would purely a money grab, just like alot of our FA players...)

dreams of cowher are just dreams and it won't matter if vinnie is still there...cuz he's the damn evil voice in snyder's ear...

the players, the coaches....their all just patsies...

i like zorn, campbell...i want to root for orakpo...a few others...but it's just an nfl team gone coporate. where everyone does enough not to get fired...and even then...they don't give a damn, because they got paid, and if they have a shred of talent, they'll catch on somewhere else anyway...and be better off...

so i'm done. when vinnie is gone or removed, i'll root for the skins again...til then, it's for whoever is playing the skins. Go Tampa.

(note, i will never root for dallas, vs skins or otherwise...for that game, i'll simply hope that the million pound plus big screen falls on both teams...)

you do realize that the redskins won 10 games in '89. yeah, losing to the cowboys sucked, but that 9 game lead in the standings helped. not to mention that Gibbs had just won the Super Bowl in '88 and would win it again 2 years later.

so, basically you're saying that losing to a horrid cowboys team once while still having a good season = embarrassing.

but getting swept by a bad Redskins team while still having a great season = no big deal.

Wow..you're struggling to follow MY logic? You said it yourself. One team had a great season (Super Bowl), and the other had a good season (No Super Bowl). You don't look at your losses quite as hard when you win the last game of the season..that's a fact. You're saying that it sucked more for the Cowboys to lose a shitty Redskins team and win the title than it sucked for the Skins to lose to a RIDICULOUSLY horrible Cowboys team and NOT win the title?

ridiculous debate, but hold onto that 1 victory in 89. props.

it felt good to sweep the eventual superbowl winners in 95 as well...

there here and now?

both teams suck, haven't won shit in over a decade, and have suspect management.

difference is, skins fans know what we're dealing with and know reality.

if dallas wins vs. the giants, there would be superbowl talk on the local sports radio shows...but they lost, so it's back to romo bashing and wade sucks. we're talking a field goal difference and two different sides of the spectrum as far as fan reaction...it's comical and it's what gets me through the sundays to be quite frank.

This Redskin team is in complete disarray so early in the season and it's a very sad thing to see. A once great franchise is now only a shell of its former self if that. I used to look forward to Sunday's and the Redskins game but now to watch is only an exercise in misery and futility. How the fuck do you drop a game to most pathetic, worthless team in history? Unless you yourself are in that class. What I witnessed Sunday was a debacle so complete that I was totally depressed by halftime.

The defense showed me they have absolutely no heart by giving up a 99 drive to the Lions! With a rookie quarterback! How does that happen unless the defense has totally quit on the field. And don't get me started on JC or the lack of a running game. Sure, Campbell's stat line looks respectable but he was totally ineffective in the red zone and on third down. And I would not be surprised if Zorn is gone in a week's time. I'm... just so fed up with this whole fucking organization.

Bigzax
09-29-2009, 09:39 AM
forgetting the real problem and looking at the field of play,

we should all realize that our oline, while decent in pass protection, really really sucks at run blocking.

don't know if buges is past his prime as a coach or not, but once again it's on vinnie as our pseudo GM to put some hogs on the field. i didn't expect an overhaul overnight, but samuels has been over rated for years, 'false start' dockery was a cheap fix and a C- updgrade from an F with what's his face last year...Rabach is undersized as a center and gets pushed around with ease...

the writing was on the wall with Thomas and his injury history....it was on the wall with BIG BOLD LETTERS...and snyderatto must have decided that it was best to just cross our fingers, hold our breath, and be content with rookies and late round picks that might be able to contribute should the need arise...

Jansen was finally let go...thank God...but about 2 years too late...and while i'm very glad we got Orakpo...I wanted Oher to be our RT, and he is now with the superbowl bound ravens...fuck.

So we got another guy with 'potential' at RT, who couldn't even beat out an overmatched, overpowered and gimpy Jansen last year....Heyer got the job by default.

Add this to Zorn's lack of run scheme disguises...(does anyone NOT know when the skins are gonna run?)...i.e....no runs out of a spread formation or a double tight ends spread wide set...

and then throw in a just past his prime portis who obviously was a step slower LAST YEAR...

and what do you have?

you have runs that more often than not go for a net gain of ONE FUCKING YARD.

you have a helluva hard time scoring in the redzone...cuz no one is afraid of the run and they know exactly when it's coming...

you have a team that will crumble...

you have the Snderatto Skins.

Wilbon and Jimmy Johnson nail it:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/10/13/AR2009101303177.html

Just in case you didn't get to hear Jimmy Johnson on the Fox pregame show Sunday, I come armed with a transcript. The bet here is Johnson has had this exact conversation with Snyder.
"Realize that a great 53-man roster is what wins championships, not five or six high-priced stars. Dan Snyder builds his team like its fantasy football and that's a big negative. The Redskins need a GM who can prevent Snyder from making decisions while letting Snyder think he's involved. Who can work that magic? I don't know."

Going back to Jimmy Johnson, his analysis of the Redskins didn't just center on Snyder. Here's what else he said:
"[Jim] Zorn . . . he's not good enough to do the work that lies ahead. That's a negative. The scouting department . . . they are trucking around the country doing their job but no one in the D.C. office is trusting their work. That's a negative. The salary cap situation . . . well, that's a negative. The team is bloated with high-priced veterans. On the other side, how about young, up-and-coming players. Hmm, can't think of any . . . Jason Campbell is not championship material . . . Since the roster isn't where it should be, the Redskins need extra draft picks to rebuild, however they don't have any right now; that's a negative. To get any marks in the positive column there has to be a drastic philosophy change . . . "

cooley hurt does suck, but i was impressed with Davis (pass blocking not withstanding...)

my heart was heavy for JC, down 17-0 when it seemed like he couldn't do anything right...

that first TD drive showed me something about the heart of the team...

but then Randel El fumbling the punt and having an undersized center that can't even snap the ball now...wtf...

i hope they keep deangelo hall on punt return duty.

Jason has alot of heart, but i couldn't help but shake my head in dissappointment and nod in agreement with the commentators that say he's not meant for a quick read, quick throw offense...

yeah, our oline is subpar and can't open any running holes with any consistency, and yes, philly gave JC a pounding, but it seems too many plays are being left on the field by our QB...

i can't believe they cut chase daniel and put colt brennan on IR for the year...

i would advocate bringing in jeff garcia is they want to win some games this year...

the offseason has to be about getting a GM that can build the oline and get a westcoast qb...

i'd personally like to keep zorn at least another year as i don't see him as the problem. if you can't run the ball and your qb can't make reads, thinks too much, is afraid to pull the trigger...etc...then you are behind the 8ball from the beginning...

All that shit said...our D is impressive.

i think zorn will be a good coach some day - but it won't be here. he needs to start from scratch like beliceck did after cleveland.

chase daniel sucks (relative to other professional QBs). i still have some hope for brennan. but daniel was a weak armed guy who was the product of a system where he NEVER had to read a pre-snap defense at mizzou. even after the snap, it was just toss an 8 yard curl to maclin and let him run to get you 90 yards in passing offense.

his clone reesing is still at Kansas. both would make Campbell look like Peyton Manning.

don't know if buges is past his prime as a coach or not, but once again it's on vinnie as our pseudo GM to put some hogs on the field. i didn't expect an overhaul overnight, but samuels has been over rated for years, 'false start' dockery was a cheap fix and a C- updgrade from an F with what's his face last year...Rabach is undersized as a center and gets pushed around with ease...

the writing was on the wall with Thomas and his injury history....it was on the wall with BIG BOLD LETTERS...and snyderatto must have decided that it was best to just cross our fingers, hold our breath, and be content with rookies and late round picks that might be able to contribute should the need arise...

Dude you COMPLETELY jinxed the hell out of us......:bang

As much as I hate the 'Skins, Id rather see them competitive. Nothing like a good Cowboys-Redskins matchup with something on the line....

Thats not to say I won't make fun of them while they are down.

I wouldn't mind the Cowboys signing Cambell in the offseason to be our QB3. Develop him for a few years, I think he could be more than serviceable. I think the Redskin franchise has ruined him for the time being.

Under Dan Snyder they will always need to bring in a Vet to QB his teams. They will just ruin young guys.
