Also another thing is the Spurs cheat. They get every call, it's kind of annoying. Tim never gets in foul trouble. Tony never gets a foul. Manu gets every call. So I am really looking forward to that.

RJ: I'm flipping tires. I'm throwing tires and I'm running up this huge hill you guys got in the back (of the practice facility). All that is a something that is a little strange for me.

:pctoss

Great, follow the Tim Duncan's Treatment for Fucking your Knees and Ankles.

Damn you, Bob Hill. :lol

Quote:RJ: No, no I will not expand anymore. I'll just say if he calls me "Princess Peanut" one more time, we're probably going to have a fight.

I dont even wanna know where Tim got this idea to call him Princess Peanut.

It does make you feel good that tim likes him enough to make fun of the guy, which is the key to starting a family and good chemistry.

Two people need to to go together to a game and get Jefferson's autograph.

One person need to ask for the autograph and when Jefferson goes to sign, ask him to sign it " Princess Peanut."

The second person needs to have their camera ready to take a photo of Jefferson's facial expression.

If they could ask for the autograph in Timmy's hearing- all the better.

Good interview. Thanks for posting.

So the nicknames of our key players are The Big Fundamental, El Contusion, Les Blurs, and Princess Peanut? Sounds like a perverse Saturday Morning cartoon. :)

I'm pretty sure it was John Lucas that was responsible for the hill - 50 has called it "Luke's hill" in interviews.

Hopefully he's doing more of the tire flippng and less of the hill running...

I think you're right. Bob Hill didn't seem right, but I couldn't come up with Lucas' name for some reason.

I remember when RJ was signed he said something to the effect that Tim texted him and told him that he's already in the dog house because he ignored Pop's call.

IIRC, these guys played together in the Olympics and got a friendship going there. I imagine that RJ made it a lot easier to go to SA knowing his welcoming party consisted of the starting general manager...er, uh, power forward.

My guess is that if he fits in as good as it sounds like he will, the Spurs will re-sign him to a long term contract and then do a sign-and-trade with Ginobili.

I don't think I've ever heard a player say they wanted to be in SA because of the weather. That's kind of weird. I mean, here with our summers, if some player has a weight problem they can just sit him outside in a sweat suit for a few hours. But, whatever floats his boat.

RJ sounds hilarious. Great interview, great questions, and I bet this guy is going to be a fan favorite very quickly here because of stuff like that.

Yeah, but considering he is from AZ and spent the last nine years in New Jersey and Milwaukee, I don't find that surprising.

Maybe that's how he dislocated his thumb? All the tendons holding the joint together got tired from all that expanding and contracting from the hot and cold.

I'm taking it you've never met the guy. I met him at a Spurs/Lakers playoff game a while back...one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Signed autographs for everyone, and took pictures with everyone. Hung out and talked with everyone. Just an overall great guy. Kinda hurt me to see how basketball has taken a toll on him. He could hardly walk.

But everything that he has earned over the course of his career - the MVPs, the championships, the all-stars, the scoring title all those things... I remember when he scored all those points - 71 - to take the scoring title from Shaq and I was as happy as anybody.

He is a Spur:)
