IMO GS shouldn't have made the playoffs anyways, the NBA and College Basketball are shining examples of boring, meaningless regular seasons. and a Cinderella team in Football is much different than, say, basketball, where one single recruit like Morrison or Curry can put you in serious contention.
In college football, teams are 50 athletes deep, and teams like BSU have no shot at any player that USC or LSU decides they want, a great college football team does NOT come out of nowhere, they are built slowly. BSU's rise from Division II some 20 years ago is about as fast as you will ever see a team rise, and in that time, they had plenty of time to start scheduling better opponents or lobbying to get into a different conference. up until recently, BSU made no attempt to hide the fact that they were content to schedule and run over weak teams.

I would rather see a champion crowned on the field. That is what is supposed to be great about sports, the champion beats everyone else to take it. The players should be in control, not the voters or computer rankings.
