Yesterday, the State Department's Flickr stream included this photo of the Obamas with Spanish prime minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and his heretofore unseen teenage daughters, who are not allowed to be photographed to protect their privacy. And now all the world knows that 13-year-old Alba and 16-year-old Laura are in the midst of their goth phase. Next up: their feminist hippie phase. Somebody send them an Indigo Girls CD to move things along.

i think its cool, kids need to participate in some kind of alt youth culture. it's mentally healthy for them to have their own thing that parents just don't understand
