Looks like the making of another Championship team. Turn out the lights on your way out the backdoor, Lakers. And don't let that door hit you in yer' ass on your way out!

I think so too. I was hoping he'd be in camp and have that experience even if he wasn't going to make the team. Hopefully we hear something soon.

Just talked to some people who met Blair today. They said no way he is 6'7", but he is very broad and has huge hands with a very big body.

Even though Blair has never played football, if things don't work out in the NBA he could probably be a lineman in the NFL.

Did they mean he looked shorter or taller?

do you guys know how long camp lasts?

Shorter. Blair is listed at 6'5.5" without shoes. If he were wearing flip flops or something he could pass as 6'6" maybe.

I wasn't there, but it won't make too much of a difference since he will probably play at 6'7" when in shoes.

Wich only matters. His wingspan also makes up for whatever lack of height there might be.

Wouldn't be shocked to see Ratliff play with Blair if he can't play defense in the last part of the year, but from what I've heard about him, I'm completely faithfull he will catch on just fine.

His defense looked pretty bad in the SL, but that's to be expected from an undersized rookie..I agree that we'll probably see Ratliff playing with him, and I'd expect a lot of Duncan with him as well..

I wouldn't judge too much of his defense in SL.

Lotta people better keep in mind this team isn't gonna be very good till probobly january. Its gonna take em a while to get on the same page.

That's 18 guys. I'm guessing to cut it down to a 15 man roster Williams, Jerrells, and Jones will be cut when it is all said and done...

Not necessarily. The Spurs have until the end of October to decide whether Ian Mahinmi is a "keeper". With TP working with Brungy and Chip for the first couple of weeks and sitting out the first 2 or 3 pre-season games, Marcus Williams should get some time to show his floor leadership ability, along with George. If Marcus can play multiple positions, lead guard and on the wing, then he'll stick and maybe Hairston, Jerrells and Ian draw the short straw.

I doubt Hairston does. He's shown great strides and has the potential to be a damn good contributor.

Fuck yes. Damn, why couldn't the Bucks have demanded Fin in the trade for RJ, so both MW and Hairston could have a chance.

He's really not that undersized. He's got the bulk to prevent guys from pushing him around down low, and his vertical reach is higher than Blake Griffin's (who NOBODY has called undersized).

There is absolutely no basketball skill whatsoever associated with who has the highest forehead.

Blair is 6 Foot 7 and he dominated Thabeet in College and he's 7 foot 3. His size isn't an issue.

I'm sure it'll really sink in once I see them on the floor, but....

If the Spurs only signed McD, the offseason would have been AWESOME.

If the Spurs just signed RJ, it still would have been the biggest FA acquisition since Sean.

If the Spurs just added Blair and a few other role players (like Ratliff) they would not be a team to sleep on and would be primed for another deep playoff run.

But, the Spurs did all of the above.

I know it will take them some time to mesh, but once they start clicking, it's gonna be insane. Can't wait to see this team on the floor.

***edit and question for the mods*** I tried to type Sean E_L_L_I_O_T (without the lines, duh) but it auto replaced his last name with "Luck_The_Fakers" about five times in a row.

Huh????? hahaha

Because at the time Fin hadn't taken his option, so there was no way he could be included in any deal.
