And since I'm not a retard, I'll actually state reasons I think the cowboys will win.
1. Their run defense has woken up. Holding the giants and Panthers to poor rushing performances. If you take away the run, you basically take away their offense. I'm not scared of Orton.
2. Our offense has too many weapons to be completely shut down. I think this will be a low scoring game, as both defenses will do a good job stopping the other team. But the cowboys offense has too many weapons to be completely shut down.
3. Marion Barber should be back. And from the sound of it hes eager to prove his healthy and the best RB on the team. Expect a big game from him.

Here are the first 3 reasons the Cowboys lost the game.

Before anyone wants to jump on the Romo hater bandwagon (and there's room) think clearly for a second. The offensive line got manhandled by a smaller Broncos defense as the game wore on. The Boys dominated the first half and then let Denver kick their asses up and down the field in the second half.

And what was with the play calling on the goaline. Really, a slant to Hurd who was covered by Champ Bailey. Brandon Marshall scores what turns out to be the game winning touchdown because he was 5 inches taller than Terrance Newman and the coaching staff doesn't think to put Martellus Bennett in the game on 3rd down to try the jump ball. The 6'6" Bennett. The same Bennett who came from a basketball background.

And what was with the coaches not knowing what to do with the ball before the half, knowing the Denver was getting the ball to start the second half. Why didn't the coaching staff order the hurry up, instead of having Romo just stare at the sideline try to figure out what you wanted to do?

The Cowboys lost because they looked at their rushing stats for the season, disregarded the fact that two of their running backs are banged up, then announced that they were going to run the ball on Denver and tried to do it without a play-action pass in their playbook. Kind of hard to fool a defense when you have no backs in the set on pass plays.

I'm not broken-hearted about the Cowboys losing games they deserve to lose at this point. Better that they learn these lessons now so they can fix it or just get themselves eliminated early.

Game Thoughts

The Good:

* After a loss like this, it is hard to see anything positive but this was clearly a game where one side of the field shined while the other pissed their pants. The defense did just about everything they could to keep the Cowboys in the game before faltering in the 4th quarter. Lots of individual performances on the defensive side could be pointed out but I think the unit as a whole did the best they could given the circumstances.

* Keith Brooking, even with his constant over celebration, played a great game. He was always in the right position, wrapped up his tackles well and his 4th down play should have been a game clincher had the offense not sucked the game away.

* Special teams again was a positive aspect of the team. Folk's 50 yarder was clutch and Mcbrair averaging around 50 per kick really kept the battle of field position respectable. 3 punts inside the 20 is fantastic, he is having a pro-bowl year. Maybe Decamillas should be Wade's successor, he is the only coordinator earning his salary right now.

* Sam Hurd, with Roy Williams being killed by Romo's high passes, tried to at least make a few plays and led the team in receiving yards. The last 2 plays in the end zone were more the fault of Garret's bad play calling than his ability to secure a catch. Champ Bailey is one of the best corners in the league, it was just silly to go anywhere near his end of the field in that situation. Twice in a row is laughable.

* Eventhough it was only for a half, Barber ran pretty well and his TD was a thing of beauty (O-line aided of course). He showed alot of emotion on his runs and I thought was a major part of their early lead. Choice was also solid but I think the altitude got to him in the 2nd half.

The Bad:

* My goodness, so many things to choose from here. We should start with the head of the snake, Romo was again absolutely terrible, especially when it mattered most. When he wasn't throwing picks because he didn't look at where he was throwing, fumbling the ball because he can't feel the blitz coming, or overthrowing wide open receivers (If I was Roy Williams, I would have kicked Romo's ass in the locker room)...he was defeating his team with his non-chalant defeatist sideline attitude. Maybe he is starting to realize that he isn't the man for the job and his demeanor is finally reflecting that. To me, he looks like a guy that has lost confidence in himself and his WR's, which signals to me that Kitna needs to take over the reigns. If Wade is not going to be let go, this is the 2nd biggest change I can think of that could jump start this team back to caring again.

* The O-line had a good 1st quarter and then just fell apart. 5 sacks allowed is unacceptable and they did their part to kill drives with penalties. After getting Barber and Choice off to a great start, averaging 3 yards a carry for the remainder is not getting it done. Flozell was the worst of the bunch here, repeatedly getting beaten by an undersized DE with some quickness. This really should be Adams's last year, he just doesn't look like he has what it takes to keep young speed rushers away from the QB without help.

* For as good as the defensive unit was, a few individuals had some pretty bad games. Demarcus Ware was again "No-Ware" (props to Bob Bland for this one) to be found. 4 games without a sack is inexcusable for a player that led the league last year. Not sure if it is the scheme or the blocking but don't tell me it is because of all the attention he is getting. I saw him get handled on plenty of 1 on 1 matchups.

* His OLB mate Anthony Spencer was not much better. I think his no nickname should be "No Cigar" because he is always REALLY close to making a play but it just doesn't happen. It looked like Aikman hand it right when he said the ball looked like it went through his stomach on the Moreno touchdown. He should have at least knocked the ball down by accidenct considering his position on the ball but leave it to him to let it go right by.

* The secondary again had their share of foul ups. Mike Jenkins felt it was more important to give the no catch signal in the middle of a play instead of pinning his receiver down. Sensabaugh acted like his thumb was broken ahead of time when he whiffed on a ball thrown right to him. Newman, even with good position, was outleaped and outfought on the TD pass to Brandon Marshall. The whole secondary then decided to give the WR a pass to the goal line, which was probably the smart move at the time considering what was left on the clock.

* This penalty paragraph should be copy-pasted in just about every loss because it doesn't look like it will improve anytime soon. 7-70 is far too many. It was however nice to see an opposing team actually do worse than that department and nearly hand us the game on a silver platter with their mistakes. As usual though, our knuckleheads couldn't capitalize on anything Denver was gift wrapping our way.

* I hold the coaching staff accountable for alot of this loss, especially Jason Garrett and his play calling lunacy. Far too often he guessed wrong with runs that should have been passes and vice versa. Also, it's hard to tell who is at fault for all the pre-snap buffoonery that goes on before a play is run but it has to stop. This team needs to line up, take a look at the defense to make an adjustment if needed but just run the play called the majority of the time. All this "KILL! KILL! OMAHA! OMAHA!" is just confusing both the WR's and lineman into all kinds of mistakes. If Romo can't handle this type of offense, it needs to be dumbed down to high school level and Garrett needs to be the one to do it. Not having Witten in the pass route for the last 2 plays of the game was idiocy. I don't care how much of a blitz Denver was putting together, you don't keep your most reliable pass catcher in the backfield in this situation.

Overall...it's hard to look at this team and see any chance of post season in there future. My only hope, for the team's sake, is that Kansas City wins next Sunday, which would undoubtedly force Jerry's hand to make a change. With it being early enough in the season, letting Camp Cupcake go may be the only thing that could wake this team up and make them realize they are not as good as they think they are. Going into the bye week would be the perfect time to pull the trigger so Jerry, if you are reading this, give your fans a reason to keep going to the Death Star in Arlington and start filling out the pink slip. Once Wade is gone, Romo should be the next on the chopping block to lose his job. It all needs to happen quickly or be prepared for a top 5 pick (which wouldn't be so bad) next draft.

With under 2 minutes left, and Denver with 1st and 10 around the 20, the Broncos pretty much run the clock down to about 30 seconds before trying their game winning FG. It would have been pretty much over...letting Marshall score was really the only chance they had outside of a miracle FG miss/block by Denver.

During the final seconds of the game, Romo motions his linemen to get ready for the next play, then holds up three fingers, as if he thought the team had just completed the third down play.
But when he learns that the previous play was actually the fourth -- and last -- chance for the Cowboys, Romo reacts with a curse.
Romo tried twice to throw to receiver Sam Hurd (http://www.myfoxdfw.com/dpp/sports/nfl/cowboys/Was_Tony_Romo_Lost_During_Las#) to tie the score, but both attempts were incomplete. The Cowboys lost to the Broncos 17-10.
