Everyone seems to have a buzz about them. I really hope Theo can come in and provide those little boosts to the interior defense the Spurs need. It would be great if he can help keep Tim's minutes down sporadically throughout the year.

Yes. He was doing catch and shoot drills during the Mason video.

Just a little bit I heard from today.

Halfcourt scrimmages today. Haislip played well, bonner was knocking down shots.

In the low post defense drills Ian was doing very well.

I hope Haislip shows this on the regular season.

Glad to hear something from Ian, not so much Bonner though.:lol

THANKS PHILA!!!

His shot looked pretty smooth, although it's just practice..

Everybody is going to have to wait until Oct 6th and beyond to answer any questions. That is going to be crucial to figuring out who stays, who plays and who goes.

Ian has a solid offensive game. He can hit jumpers and take it to the rim. He just looks a little awkward in the post, and he rushes sometimes, but overall, he has a lot of offensive potential.

I think that Ian's only problem scoring in the low post is that he fakes himself out too much.

Wow. Thumbs up on the Theo signing. Looks happy and healthy and with lots of desire to contribute and win. I don't think Roger cared for the "any more backup point" question, but handled it well and I hope that question is out of the way now.

Roger Mason is still a bleeping pimp. Dude is smooth.

Will have a great career in broadcasting when he's ready to hang em up. Looks like a taller Kenny Smith.

Theo looks young as fuck to be in his late 30s. And he blocked Marcus "I 1080 in my sleep" Haislip, that is bad... ass. :worthy:

Ratliff is a straight OG (reminds me of Kevin Willis in 2003). Loved that interview. I hope he can stay healthy and play some decent minutes for us this year.

I loved when Theo was talking about his role as a defender on the team and said that its not only shot blocking, but being vocal. Helping teammates out on the floor by doing simple things like talking to them about what's going on as it happens is the kind of thing that brings teams together, and helps everybody to play their best games.

No question Theo is gonna be a better version of Kevin Willis in 2003 if he can stay healthy..

I was pleasantly surprised with Ratliff. I knew about his shot blocking abilities but I liked his attitude and what else he brings to the table.

Thanks for the vids.

I'm really glad that Mason worked on losing weight and getting quicker. His lack of quickness was really exposed last year as the season went on. Teams eventually figured out that he was slow and would attack him with speed -- culminating in Dallas attacking the Barea vs. Mason matchup.

If Mason got quicker and his defense is improved, I'd be much more confident in his ability to carve out a substantial role. If he's still a Finley-level defender, then others (namely Hill and Bogans) could turn him into a spot player.

As for Ratliff, it's good to hear that he's excited and it sounds like he understands his role. It'll be nice to finally be able to pair Duncan with a legit shotblocker. Ratliff doesn't do much else but the Spurs need shotblocking so much that he could definitely see minutes a la Kevin Willis in 2003.

Ratliff will be the veteran paint presence the Spurs have lacked, along side of Tim, since Robinson retired. A true 7-footer who can truly defend the rim. No longer does Tim have to be the only shot-blocker on the team.

Ratliff cracked me up when describing the Haslip block. He looks like he's gonna fit in nicely.

And yes, Mason is a pimp! I still don't want to see him playing point, though.

Great videos. Thanks for posting.

Manu working on that stutter step and fake shot was interesting. No wonder it seems second nature to him to shoot those awkward shots. Thats all he practices!

Thanks as always for the videos. This site is the best.
A lot of people are keyed in on Mahinmi, Haislip, Blair and the youngsters but it could be Ratliff and Bogans that bring the defense back.

Ratliff sounds very optimistic! Lots of exciting new additions to this years team.
