Tim, Dice, Jefferson, Tony and Mase. The second unit will have multiple options for defense or offense. The second unit will be expected to maintain or not lose a lead. We are in a good position.

Is this your theory or do you have anything to back this

Only so many shots to go around with the first unit.... Both Dice and Mase will provide dependable kick out options, while RJ and Tony create... Duncan will do his thing. That line-up makes sense on so many fronts.

Having Manu on the second unit with GHill, Blair, Mahinmi and Finley will give that unit a bonifide scorer and creator... not to mention leadership... the additions of Haislip, Bogans and Ratliff will provide other options which Ginobili can exploit...

Our second unit will not be expected to maintain a lead. Are you kidding me. Our second unit will be expected to add to a lead. Nothing less will be accepted with the talent the second until possesses.

It's a pretty likely first unit. I don't see why most people wouldn't expect this to be the lineup. I love having Manu as the the faux sixth man.

Is this a joke or what? Hairston probably won't even make the team. At least spell their names correctly. I mean, who's "Dunan?"

Bonner - Finley - Bonner - Finley - Finley

I know what you're thinking:

"How come 3 Finley's and only 2 Bonner's?"

Well, Someone's got to be the other big...

This is what we like to call "getting out a clean Yatzee sheet". Too unsavory using one of those other cluttered "sheets" that somebody already wrote on (on this subject).

Williams, Finley, Haislip, Bonner, Mahinmi. That way the Spurs can have Tony, Manu, RJ, Duncan and Dyess providing the all important spark off the bench.

Why 6 Bonner's right?

Well, I just know you can never have too much of a good thing.

Manu Hill Blair will be so sick.

If only Ian Mahmahmahankle! could live up to his athletic height.

1st - Dice, TD, TP, RJ, Mase

2nd - Manu, Hill, Finely, Blair, Ian

Interchangeable parts depending on the opposing lineup - Bonner, Ratlift, Bogans, and Hairston

Hoping for minutes - Haislip/Willians which makes it 16 players.

Maybe a better question is who is going to make the team?

Bubble players whould be - Haislip/Willians and mabybe Hairston depending on his play during camp and preseason.

Is this a real thread? Or just something started to piss mookie off? Because there are 1000000000000000000000000000000000 other threads that have this in them.

Pop has been saying for a while now (last couple of years anyway) that it's time Manu off the bench ended and that he was the starter.
So I see a starting lineup this year as TD Dice TP RJ and Manu as the most likely scenerio.
I also think Marcus Williams will surprise a lot of us this year and be one of the first players off the bench simply due to his familiarity with the system and his versitility.
I also doubt we ever trade Fin or Manu. Both are favorites of Pop.

At some point this year (to save legs and just because Pop plays mind games) the starting lineup will be

Duncan
Blair or Ian
Parker
Jefferson
Hill

A combo of old and young.

Not my choice for the starting five, but there are what I think pop will start the game with.

TP Mason RJ TD Bonner

Manu & Dice will be the first off the bench. That way pop can limit both Manu's and Dice's minutes.

Second unit

Hill Manu Fin Dice and Theo.

Blair, Haislip, Ian and Bogans will get minutes depending on the game.

We will trade for Udoka.

It will be Bonner, Bonner, Bonner, Bonner, Ime, Bonner, Bonner.

We will be able to spread the floor. Ime will provide that defensive kick.

I think it will probably go down something like this:

pg Bonner
sg Bonner
sf Bonner (or Bonner, you really don't know.)
pf Bonner
c Bonner
extra Bonner
defensive kick Udoka

I also think we should probably trade Parker, and get another Bonner.

i hope for the beginning of the season popovich force feeds mahinmi, blair, and haislip minutes to see if they are worth keeping. spurs still need to think about their future. after this year, mcdyess will be 36, ratliff will be gone, and bonner most likely will be gone as well. he-who-must-not-be-named might come over but looks like the rotating door on the starting big next to duncan will continue.

My prediction was based on logic. The starters I chose, have more than enough firepower. They do not need Manu. The second, unit with Manu and Hill could be explosive with Ratliff and Blair hitting the boards & Haipslip and Hairston/ Williams running the floor like we haven't seen in a long time. I don't know how Fin, Bonner and Ian will work into the mix. Anyway it comes down it's looking all good. Of course, Manu will be on the floor to finish every game with TP & Timmy. POP must feel like he died and went to heaven!

Yeah the Spurs are easily 11 deep with being able to put Manu, Hill, Ratliff, Blair, and Haislip/Finley in as a completely different second unit.
