So a buddy and I were at the game last night. We sat right behind the Rocket's bench and decided to give them a hard time. My buddy is a huge Battier fan so we kept telling him to come over to the Spurs. He just turned and looked at us and shrugged his shoulders and smiled. No big whoop but we had fun messing with him.
Well later in the game R.C. passed by us and went over to sit with Shane. They were talking for a while and we kept yelling out "Hey R.C. sign him up" they didn't pay attention of course but now all of you know that we are going to get Shane Battier some time this season. Book it! lol
You've got it all wrong. The Spurs are supposed to give away key players to their interstate rivals. Not the other way around.

If they were actually talking about coming to SA wouldn't that be tampering?

I would have been looking to see if Battier slipped R.C. a fat envelope marked "For Scola".

not if shortly before RC and Daryl Morey had agreed to a trade of Battier for Bonner+Fin.

So...another GM went and sat next to Shane Battier during the game ? I guess you expect us to believe that RC thought this was an appropriate time to start some small-talk with an opposing team's player. That, the Rockets players and coaches didn't think that it was unusual..preseason or not.
Ok.

It's very unusual. Who said it wasn't? That is why I said he is going to sign with the Spurs. I was kidding of course but I didn't expect to see RC chilling with Shane and you are right the Rockets probably didn't expect it either.
I don't see where you are going with that post.

You should see that I think its so unbelievable that I believe it to be complete bullshit. If it is true, then who cares what I think ? Maybe its the preseason and no one cares if RC stops to say "hello" during a game to an opposing team's best defensive player. Maybe they have a history together. That's always a possibility.
Then again you titled this thread "Just to start a rumor".

Well I was siting in my seats for that game, saw RC sit and talk to Shane right in front of me, as well as I heard the calls from I. Hustle (which I thought was funny, heard him yell something about coming to the silver and black that made me laugh). But it's not unusual for RC to sit there and talk to the people from the other team, coaches, staff, players during a game.

lol No that wasn't us. I had a black polo on with white stripes and my buddy had a black spurs t. We were drinking beer and shouting the whole game though.
I kept yelling at that Lowry guy from Houston calling him Mike Lowry. I yelled it out once and he turned right when they passed him the ball and it went out of bounds.
I saw him wave that chick off. There was a chick in a shiny black top in front of us that was banging then later on some dudes sat next to us with a nice looking blonde. She was cool as hell and chatted with us for a while (no not trying to hook up, just making fun of her bf).
That one kid with the Battier jersey lucked out and got to sit right next to him.

Oh I thought you were calling the trade for Battier BS. That I was making up because I didn't really know what was being said. I didn't know you were calling the RC and Battier convo BS. Cool that a few other people were in the same area as me to back up my story.

Yeah, the projected Wins thing is freaking stupid :lol
But also added incentive for this trade, Bonner's nickname is already the Red Rocket and he's a white guy. The Rockets Colors are Red and white. Its a perfect match, I'm telling you!
Its like destiny or something! :lol

According to Hollinger's analysis, it's lose lose for both teams in the loss column. What a joke.

What's really hilarious is that, according to Hollinger, Battier is less valuable than EITHER Finwad or Boner.

There's not a chance in hell that Daryl Morey gets rid of Shane Battier. Battier is like the god of adjusted plus/minus.
knowing popovich, if bogans and jefferson don't work out defensively, he will make a move for a real defensive wing. this probably won't occur until the trade deadline though. i personally don't think the spurs need a bowen replacement as long as they play smart team defense like the celtics did during the 2008 finals.
