What happens, if say, you want to buy a used guitar, and you meet the buyer in person, you inspect the item, and you buy it.

Only to later find there is something wrong with the guitar.

Do they have to give you your money back?

Does anyone know the buyer rights when it comes to buying used goods between owners?

I practically built the house at the ranch off of craigslist...appliances, tile, flooring, plumbing fixtures, furniture, TV's etc....You cannot reasonably expect a warranty on used stuff you bought on craigslist.

I've made a lot more money than I would have if I had a garage sale, on just stuff in my garage. I search their wanted ads everyday to see if I have a potential buyer for the various stuff I want to get rid of.

You (hopefully) wouldn't try to take something back to a garage sale, and the same philosophy applies to Craigslist. I sold a couch on craigslist last year, and I wouldn't have taken it back had the buyer asked me to (then again, I was also completely honest about the couch's condition and would have been really surprised if they tried to argue with me).

My best friend found a summer roommate while she was in college on Craigslist since her normal roommate took an internship. She appeared normal at first, but ended up trying to burn down the apartment by putting plastic in the oven. So, be aware. The crazies are out there.
