Listening to him and Matt Bullard verbally fellate the Rockets last night was nauseating. Of course DeJuan Blair is another rookie league GMs are smacking their foreheads about not drafting, just like the great Chase Budinger. Then again, they have to try to interest Conroe and Jasper in the negro sport, so I'm not surprised.
i lived in h-town for almost 2 years and he is the reason i grew to hate the rockets. he is the quinetessence of homerism.

I can live with the homerism, lord knows Sean Elliott brings that to the table with the Spurs. What I can't stand is that he and Bullard labor until the wildly inaccurate idea that either of them is funny. They fucking suck.

yeah its not the homerism, hes just a bad announcer period. If you hate homerism then you wouldnt be able to watch any of the games Elliott announces.

Heinsohn?
Agreed . . . the worst, hands down.

He whines about calls more than most Dallas fans. He's like the Mark Cuban of play-by-play.

The name escapes me, but the guy who used to do the Spurs and now does the Lakers is probably at the top of the homer list for me (along with room maybe for Heinsohn, who goes out of his way to insult opposing players).
Someone help me with the name, but the guy was so biased he made Elliott sound impartial! I don't think the Spurs EVER committed a foul while he announced their games. And for proof that the guy is a complete homer, he now does games the exact same way for the Lakers, proving there's absolutely no credibility in his word. .:lol

Hornets announcers/Blazers announcers/Celtics announcer (actually just Heinsohn) all are more homer than the Rockets guys.
Have you ever heard a Hornets broadcast, by chance...?

Blazer's and Celtic's announcers are so damn bad. They are worse than whining Spurs fans.

I played basketball in an AAU league with Bill back in the day and he's not a bad guy--but he's a homer to the point of not being as good an announcer as he could be.
Last night I noticed again that the Houston announcers almost NEVER utter the name of the opposing team's players, even when they make a great shot or a bad one. It doesn't make any difference what they do.
As a result, last night I couldn't keep up with the names of the newcomers on the Spurs who I didn't recognize. Only occasionally did I get a glimpse of their jersey to find out who did what.
But the worst Houton Rocket homer of all was the old guy who retired last year. According to him no Rocket ever committed a foul.

I don't think he's the biggest homer announcer. He has said he roots for the Spurs when the Rockets are out in the playoffs. I do know he doesn't like Dallas though.

Joel Myers. All he ever did was whine about calls and grope peoples' arms. Even as a Spurs fan his homerism disgusted me. It's a sad day that he's now the replacement for Chick Hearn, by far the most entertaining and knowledgable play-by-play man I have ever heard in any sport.

My favorite episode in the Adventures in Homerism with Worrell/Bullard was a couple of years ago, when the Rockets lost in SA by about 5 without McGrady and they claimed that if you just added back McGrady's 30, it would have been a 25-point Rockets win.

I remember that game :lol
At least Worrell will always be nothing more than a local bum. People forget that Heinsohn was actually the national color for CBS back in the day, if you can imagine.

I think Heinsohn was one of the main reasons I hated the Celtics and always rooted for the Lakers, Pistons, Sixers, and Bulls against them when I was a kid.

Sorry but last night they were talking about awarding a flop of the night when the Spurs play the Rockets, but it'd be hard because Oberto isn't here anymore so there'd only be Manu and Scola. Worrell then said but hey, there's anytime Duncan is fouled.
When the FUCK did Duncan start flopping? Fuckin asshole deserves to be raped by Calvin Murphy's short ass.

Yeah....I hear you on that...I was a San Antonian lost in loserville with the Rockets after their chamionship runs...Calvin Murphy/Clyde Drexler and a host of other Rocket Homers always tried to put themselves on the same level with the Spurs even though they were not....If was funny they would not even write articles in the paper or barely mention it on the news they were so jealous of the Spurs. I know this because as a San Antonian looking for info about the Spurs in Houston it was like they were just looking down on us....

Nope, but it's one of the few things I like about this city. I wasn't upset about what you said.
