neither of these clubs/conferences have anything to gain from this, their conferences are plenty strong, the Big 10 and Big East are the Conferences that need to schedule top teams for credibility.
what USC does to ohio st is about right, Texas, Oklahoma, OK St, etc. should schedule teams like Penn State, Michigan, West Va, Pitt, or even ACC teams.
beat up on the bottom BCS conferences, make their undeserved credibility work for you. :lol

It would be great, but no way Texas agrees to this. They're chicken.

Don't be too certain. UT loves to schedule OOC games that will earn them and austin a fuckton of money. That means teams with diehard fans that travel, in cities that draw a big crowd. I bet they agree.
Garrett Gilbert is going to eat that shit up...like kobiyashi!!! Arhghghghghhghg!

i do think t.u. would be a little nervous to schedule this...its almost a guaranteed loss (x2).

I hope they do it, how ever wins would be in the driver’s seat for number one all year and the team that lost wouldn’t be out of it because it would not be like they got beat by the aggies

Yeah we're never up the caliber of the shitass teams USC has lost to the past three years.
People said the same thing about Ohio State.
And we split that series.
Besides, It's almost a given you are anything but a realist, so I wouldn't have expected you to say anything different (x2).

it didn't make sense on 2 accounts:
1) i could use the same argument, USC won the first 4 in the series
2) the Rose Bowl could have gone either way. you won't agree with this (i'm guessing), but t.u. was lucky to get that win...and it speaks nothing going forward...

All trash talking and homerism aside, USC would be just as hesitant to make this deal as Texas would be (in reality, this is probably the last team they'd want to have a regular season game against). A home-and-home with USC would most definitely NOT be as good as a guaranteed loss for Texas. USC knows better than that...Texas has knocked off a lot of the historically great programs in the past couple of years alone (Michigan, USC, Oklahoma and Ohio State twice). It would be a coin flip as to who would win these matchups and, IMO, would be a great deal for both sides. The revenue and recruiting potential is through the roof and would bring even more notoriety to both of these schools.

How was Texas lucky, exactly? They had the highest scoring offense of all time (along with, arguably, the greatest player ever) and the best defense they've ever had.

Garrett Gilbert will be loooooong gone before this happens. Better hope Texas keeps up their awesome recruiting efforts.

USCs suppsed "dynasty years" are DONE. They play in a shitty conference, and STILL cant go undefeated. At least teams like Texas and OU are well oiled machines who actually beat ranked opponents year in and year out.
At this point in their respective programs, Texas would handily dispach USC.

Yes.
Midway through the 4th,Texas said. "Fuck this, we are just going to lineup and take this shit from you guys, and you are NOT going to stop us you pansy ass, overrated Hollywood team." And took the game from Leinart, Bush and company. Not to mention USC had home field advantange an two supposed "heismen" winners on their team.
That was the sweetest victory in NCAA history, and Texas took it, beat that ass down in the 4th.

You must have missed the part where I said the fact that it was just as ignorant for me to say that as it was to say UT would be scared to play USC. But if you want me to go there, I can. It could have gone either way in the Rose Bowl, but it didn't...Texas won. And if you think that was lucky, that's just ignorant. You allowed a guy who had already gotten over 200 yards rushing to run another 9 yards on 4th down to win the game. There was no luck to it. Vince Young was one of the greatest players in NCAA history...and he was cementing his legacy. Yes, USC won the first 4 in the series...but Texas won the last one. My whole point is this..neither team would be "scared" to play the other, and to even say they would is fuckin stupid.

JGW, it doesn't say that USC is knocking down Texas' door to play them. It says that they're merely an option while looking for a "marquee BSC opponent." Even if they genuinely wanted to schedule Texas, it doesn't mean that they still wouldn't be hesitant to do so. Plus, Texas already has a home-and-home with Cal and UCLA. It would have to be after 2016.

Doubtful. The Pac-10 is pretty weak after Oregon and USC. Even with all of the key players the Big XII is missing due to injuries (especially the good teams), it's a toss up. It's too early to say who's the real deal anyway.

Yeah..I'm sure Reggie, Matt, and LenDale all sat back on the sidelines, huddled up and said "You know what guys..we've won a couple championships already..let's give this one to Texas..they've earned it." Fuck that...we took the ball down the field and punched them in the face, and punched it into the endzone. Vince owned them on that drive like he had owned them the rest of the game. If you think Texas didn't take that game, you must have completely forgotten about it.

nobody beats Ohio State' OOC matchups
2010/11 Miami (FLA)
2012/13 Cal
2013/14 Virginia Tech
2015/16 Oklahoma
2017/18 Tennessee
not to mention Texas and USC the past couple years. Now that is how you schedule OOC games.

Except that they were 1-4 playing against Texas and USC in those regular season games. If you can't the Bowl game, that's 1-5. I can't remember if USC and Ohio State played a bowl game so it could be worse.
Arkansas dropped out of the matchup, hence the Wyoming game. But if you want to pin that on UT, go ahead.
