So i was at the pre-season game last night. Two old guys (late 40's) were with thier dates, talking loud and bragging how they always get hook ups to the games and the sit next to vanessa bryant etc. So i was thinking, "gee, these guys are lucky fans".

Throughout the game i kept listening to thier chatter.

Guy 1: Hey who's that guy in the suit on the bench.
Guy 2: I think thats Dikembe Mutumbo.
Me (turns around): Dude thats DJ Mbenga :rolleyes

Later on that night-
Girl 1: Whats a team foul?
Guy 2: When the team fouls 7 times, they get to shoot free throws.
Me: :rolleyes

Few minutes later-
Guy 1: That Gasol guy is real tall, what is he, 7' 6"
Guy 2: Yah, he is something like that
Me: :rolleyes

Later-
Me: Luuuuuuuuuuke Luuuuuuuuke!
Girl 1: Why are they booing Luke Walton?
Me::rolleyes

Towards end of game-
Guy 1: Who is that black guy next to Phil Jackson?
Guy 2: Thats the Assistant Coach Byron Scott
Guy 1: No Byron Scott is a head coach of another team now
Me (thinking to myself): :toast
Guy 1: I think he's the coach for the Kings
Me: :bang

Most of the people I sat around during the Dodger game seemed to know what they were talking about yesterday. Everyone got an uneasy stomch once Broxton came in.

And those guys were probably richers.

So the Lake Show has clueless bandwagon fans? Stop the presses!

Actually, we have our fair share here in Cleveland as well. I think half the people in the Q on a given night didn't know we had an NBA franchise until May of 2003.

It's just a part of being one of those teams. The Cowboys, Yankees and Lakers all have those fans. It sucks, but it is what it is. Nothing really pisses me off more than seeing a fan of all thee of those teams, though.

I know what you mean. I think that stupidity is more of an all NBA phenomenon. I used to have season tickets, and sat directly in front of this rich local plumber and his very Eastern-European, very Jewish wife. She would scream defense on offensive possessions, and not even in a rythmic, typical "Dee-fense!" kinda way. It was like she was trying to see if she could squeeze it into one syllable. "D'fnz, (even faster now) D'fz D'fz!". Every single time a Spurs player was on the court it was that shit, or "Shoot it, David! (because every black person that played for us was named David). She called Manu, "Vinny" fer chrissakes! Her husband was equally ignorant, just not nearly as funny about it. That being said, I wish I still had season tickets.

well if you think those dudes were dumb you should've been sitting next to me at g1 of preseason for the spurs... this stupid chick in front of me was yelling out "san antonio sucks!" and other bs because her rockets were winning a damn preseason game. anyhow she got all belligerent during the 2nd quarter and called me a bitch after she went, "what? ah na na na... i don't think so... did he just??? na na na..." and then turned around and said, "what now bitch?!" as if i give a damn what that bitch thinks.

anyhow her response to me was because i told scola to go back to the goonies. haha. scola just got owned by blair a second before and she didn't like the fact that a spurs fan was cheering the spurs on in the spurs arena. dumb ignorant bitch!

btw she must wear the pants in the relationship because her man was her bitch. maybe she wasn't calling me a bitch afterall but instead just trying to get her mans attention? that must be it.

Every team has those fans, LA just happens to have more. Phoenix has become a mini LA in just about everything, annoying richers who go to the game pretending they're at the theater and don't stand, cheer or show any passion for the team they pretend to be a fan of when the team's good is no exception.

Of all the things that could be my worst Suns memory (Duncan's 3, Nash-Horry), by far the worst was game 5 against San Antonio in 2007 with 4-5 minutes left, when the middle aged couple sitting behind me called security over telling me and my friend to sit down because they couldn't see. Be glad that doesn't happen at Lakers games.

I wish there was a way to switch the upper level crowd and the lower level crowd just for one game. Things would get insane.

i would've told those people to shut the fuck up and stand up and cheer their team on instead of being a couple of decrepit old fucks with no passion for the game. i hate people like that at the game.

the worst people are those who turn their heads at you when you are merely yelling out for your team in support. i can't stand those people. they act like you should shut up and just sit there. fuckin' assholes!

Amen to all of that. If you don't like yelling, standing, booing, or just any sort of emotion, you shoulda stayed home.

It was horrible being talked at by that security guard and that old cunt as if the fact we were at the most important pivotal Suns game since 1995 was irrelevant. Then again, what to do those people care if the Suns lose and fade into mediocrity, they'll just stop being fans.

Yeah the upper level in Phoenix is legit. If you're wearing an opposing jersey, the end result is gonna suck either way. You don't wanna see your team lose, but if they win, it's guaranteed there's gonna be a drunk pissed off fan ready to pour beer on you.
