No, I actually don't know his scoring will come since he's only proven an ability to score in some bullshit conference. Eddie House was just as good a scorer at ASU.

JamStone

He did show the ability to score on better teams in college though. He put up 44 points on Oklahoma and NC State each last year. He was able to score 20+ on teams like UNC and Duke while being the entire focus of those defenses. Sure he had a green light to shoot it every time, but still, when you have very good college teams gameplan their entire defense around limiting you, and you still put up 20+, you show an ability to score.

The NBA is obviously very different. What may end up hurting him a lot this year is if he plays a lot with Ellis, forcing teams to put the 2-guard defender on him because of Monta's athleticism and quickness. On most nights, Curry will probably see 6-5 to 6-7 long, athletic defenders. He'll have his share of struggles. There's no doubt about it. But, he's still a good basketball player and I suspect he'll be better than what some posters in this thread anticipate.

Redick is quite different. Curry has the point guard abilities. If the Warriors are smart, they get rid of Ellis and put the ball into Curry's hands. Redick doesn't have the ability to play PG.

I'm not talking about his PG abilities that are being blown outa proportion, I'm talking about his scoring abilities, and there is no scoring ability he has shown that JJ Redick hasn't shown.

JJ Redick being no different.

Stephen's first game in the league: 7-for-12 from the field for 14 points.

JJ Redicks first five games combined in the league: 6-for-21 from the field for 17 points.

Hey, I realize it's just one game and it doesn't necessarily reflect what he'll do the rest of the season or the rest of his career, but seeing how DOK loved to bring up every bad pre-season shooting performance by Stephen, I think it's fair enough to praise him for showing the ability to score effectively and even efficiently in an actual regular season NBA game against NBA caliber defenders.

Not from Jamstone, but this is a little known gem which has not been posted yet.
On Stephen Curry:

"I took him out of the starting lineup because he doesn't have enough tattoos," Nelson told reporters. "In fact, he doesn't have any tattoos. How can the guy start in the NBA without tattoos?"

Nelson, the former Knicks' coach, has been at odds with Jackson and Ellis since the start of the season. Both Warriors players have multiple tattoos. Jackson already has requested a trade, and Nelson said a divorce would be good for both the player and the franchise. On Tuesday, Nelson and Ellis exchanged heated words during the Warriors' practice in Manhattan

Not sure where the Dominique Jones comparison came from. In fact, I'm pretty sure most Mavs fans have never thought very much of him.

And not sure how a Leonard and Battier comparison is too far from the truth. Leonard specializes in defense, spot up shooting, and junk work. Battier specializes in defense, spot up shooting, and junk work. Sure beats comparing him to Scottie Pippen :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin

If you actually watched the Spurs play you would realize the Kawhi/Battier comparison is retarded. Hes more athletic, a better ball handler, and slasher. apparently math isnt your strong suit, considering Battier has averaged 3 double digit PPG seasons, and another at 9.9 :rollin :rollin :rollin

Yes, Kawhi is more athletic, and more natural looking with the ball in his hands... right now. Maybe you forget that Battier came into the league looking that way as well, and generally having a bit more of a scoring approach than he does now. In fact, most every player coming from college starts off looking more athletic and natural with the ball in their hands.

Leonard and Battier were quite similar in their early years. But as Battier's career went on, even though he was capable of more, he realized that his best bet is to stick to what he does best... defense, spot up shooting, and junk work. I'd put money on it, that in time, Leonard will be the same. However, I never said you compared him to Pippen, but there are/were plenty of threads by spurfans making those comparisons.

Dirk take is omitted because pretty much the only people who vehemently deny that there is a legit argument there, are faggots and Dirk haters, both of which you are. Whether most posters here fully agree or not with him being considered the #2 PF of all time, the majority agree at least that a legit argument is made.

Meant to say more than 10.1 ppg, came out wrong imo. Battier has averaged more than that as many times as a 21 year old Leonard has.

:lol Battier never looked as fluid as Kawhi does, you dumbass. Nor as athletic. You make up so much shit its ridiculous. Hes always been a smart player that relies on his smarts and fundamentals...hes never been accused of being a really good athlete. You are missing the point. Tony Allen is more fluid and athletic than Shane Battier. Doesn't change the fact that they play the same roles on their respective teams, and are best suited to play that type of role. Leonard is in the same mold. Your homerism blinds you.

Your Dirk takes are ridiculous too dont act like anyone with a brain would agree with your assessment that Dirk was the 2nd PF GOAT even before 2011.

Not as ridiculous as you think. He carried teams to heights just as great as Barkley and Malone did, but did it with less talent around him. Malone was the second most important player on his teams and is one of the most overrated players of all time. Barkley has 100x more of an argument than Malone, and has been/still is the only person outside of Timmy that has a legit argument as being > Dirk. KG =/> Dirk is just laughable.

lol KG being in his prime and leading a team with comparable talent to Dirk's team this year to missing the playoffs if 3 consecutive years (and some of the worst records in the league in 2 of those years), while Dirk is out of his prime, missed a bunch of games, came back from a major surgery and played while still not 100%, and nearly got his team to the playoffs.

lol almost

Harrell> Colt

I'll agree with that. Harrell has a SB ring.

Although Colt may get one next year. . .

lol almost

lol over .500 with an unhealthy, past his prime Dirk in the lineup for part of a season

lol barely over 30 wins with a fully healthy, prime KG in the lineup for a full season

Kawhi would be wasting his talent if he opted to try to emulate Battier. Your Dirk takes are ridiculous too dont act like anyone with a brain would agree with your assessment that Dirk was the 2nd PF GOAT even before 2011.
Battier+Iguodala= Kawhi tbh(not a good passer though)

It's amazing how many people drank the Curry flavored kool aid. It's going to be hilarious to watch you all shy away from the topic next season.

curry is nothing more then a chucker system player...

people compare his game to the greats of the 90s or whatever era and saying he could play in any era, the answer is fkn no

i doubt a fkn coach will allow him to continue to chuck up bad decision making low percentage shots from that range he chucks at...

why do the great players dont chuck more 3s then 2s? cause they even if ur a sharp shooter, a closer shot is better then taking a longer shot knowing that theres a higher % clank sound

Curry is who I always said he was. A guy that gets most of his points off screens and can't defend for shit. Get physical with him and he's over. Best player in the league my ass...
