Im just as excited as the next Spurs fan about Blair, but lets not get crazy here. He will NOT be a Tim Duncan. I would love to be proved wrong though.... a Spurs Charles Barkley would be fucking awesome, but I doubt it at this point. :lol

Prove me wrong Blair. Please. :downspin:

I saw an infomercial one time at like 2 am that said your growth plates or something don't close till you're 25 or so, and you can wear these shoe inserts that will make you grow taller

When Duncan is gone, they're fighting for a playoff spot, not for a championship.

the problem with this statement is that the 27 year old Duncan is already gone, and has been for a while, the Duncan of the past couple years is maybe 65% of his former self. yet we do fine :toast

A 65% Duncan is still 90% better than most bigs in today's NBA.

"Everyone's been telling me that as a big man, no matter how much I prepare myself, you learn your toughest lesson when you go down to San Antonio. The other day [former NBA player and Blazers assistant coach] Monty Williams pulled me aside and told me: "That guy down there has had surgery on his left knee. He can only jump about this high [holds his fingers about an inch apart]. He won't say a word to you, and he will Bust. Your. Ass." -- greg Oden

"I remember one time Kevin Garnett was mushing him, and shoving him in the face; and Tim Duncan didn't do anything, he didn't react. He just kicked Kevin Garnett's ass, and won the damn championship. You know what I'm sayin'? That's gangsta. Everybody can show emotion, dunk on somebody, scream and be real cocky; but Tim Duncan is a ... he's a pimp."

I've wondered about that being he is only 20 years old. He could possibly grow at least another 2 inches in height by the time he's 22.

The problem with this statement is that he's putting up nearly the same numbers.

As I said, when Duncan is gone... it's clear, they're fighting for a playoff spot, not a championship.

are you kidding?

you must not remember young Tim Duncan, to suggest he's still at that level is an insult to how great he was.

and 19-10 is not the same as 23-12
especially when you consider that the offense ran through him, he created shots for other players before TP and Manu took over those duties. now he gets shots created for him.

whoa there sparky, I think Blair will be good, very good, but I'm not ready to pronounce him Duncan-good. Duncan is a franchise player, Duncan is a HOF lock, Duncan is one of the best defensive and offensive players ever to play the game.

I'd be satisfied if Blair is Malik Rose-good. I'm not saying I'd turn it away if he turned out to be Duncan-good, but I'm not expecting that, either.
