So I was watching this Jordan video on ESPN (an interview) and I got to thinking how cool it would be to watch these older guys that I grew up watching play again.

So here is the idea, a crazy one but fun nonetheless.

Players much be at least 40 years old. Games would be 32 minutes instead of 48 and the season would be 41 games instead of 82. There would probably also be less teams (who wants to watch say a Kings team that sucks and is filled with old geezers?). Other than that the game would basically be the same.

The problem for these old guys is mostly that they just cant stand the rigors of a full NBA season, but if you don't think a lot of those guys can still play, you're crazy. Another big problem is having to play against twenty year old players.

It's almost like watching a little league baseball game. Sure those players aren't as good as MLB players, but if they are matched evenly it can still be pretty entertaining.

It's sort of the same thing here, not to say that Michael and Magic aren't as good, their bodies just can't keep up anymore, but if they played against other forty year old players, and the season and games were shorter it could be quite entertaining.

Another thing is that some guys still want to play but teams don't want to use a spot on an older player, for a million different reasons, but not because they don't still have talent.

That stuff never works out. The mind won't let go of the images you've stored there. You'll end up heartbroken & near tears.

There's the Champions Tour in Tennins where most of the great players of the past like McEnroe or Chan compete from time to time. But it's not a real league and there are only a couple of tournaments each year.

In Basketball it would be hard... you might get a couple of players to play a game or two each month but creating a league with oldtimers would be very hard.

The Spurs and the Celtics should get in on this.

The insurance required for the leagues players would be ridiculous.
