Word out of Dallas sports radio is that marshmallow fuckhead Wade Phillips is only practicing the team 2 days on the bye week. Just wed and thurs - he gave them mon, tues, and friday off. A team that plays that sloppy with so many mistakes and penalties staring at the Falcons in 2 weeks and they're only practicing twice?? It's not like these fucks have side jobs to make ends meet, they should be drilling 6 days out of this bye week. Instead they're getting high with tiger woods at a fucking u2 concert in jerry world. No wonder they fucking suck. I can tolerate not winning because you're over matched but not winning because you're too lazy to correct your mistakes while you're getting paid millions of dollars and regular people are shelling out thousands of dollars to watch you perform weekly is fucking disgusting.

Dallascowboys.com doesn't mention anything about the Boys attending the concert, just Tiger Woods himself. It does mention this though.

Also, as Mickey Spagnola pointed out on Talkin' Cowboys, there was a large number of players working out during their bye-week day off. That's a good sign for a team that has plenty to fix and plenty of time off to do so.

DC.com won't ever mention that stuff - they sugar coat everything cause they're company men. People all over the metroplex who attended the concert confirmed that Romo, Witten, and a lot of other players were partying it up there.

Also, I'm glad a lot of them are working out individually, but that's not going to solve their problems. They lack discipline and make a ton of mental mistakes - none of that is going to be solved by working out. I don't suggest they go full pads and beat the hell out of each other - they need to drill to correct mistakes. Go over film, and work on reducing pre snap penalties. How about piping in some loud speakers and noise and working on the silent counts and getting off the ball without offsides or false starting. How about drilling formations so they can be on the same page and not let shit like leaving Vrabel wide open when everyone knows he gets the ball in that situation happen? They just go through the motions it seems instead of really putting in solid work.

That is sad and pathetic but it could be a blessing in disguise. This could be another reason why they should and probably will fire Wade after the season is over.

I went to the concert last night. Bono announced from the stage that Romo and Witten were both there.

damnit...where the fuck is Bill Cowher?

That's a pipe dream. Cowher will never go to a team with an owner that doesn't know his place. Art Rooney never got overly involved with the team the way JJ does. Jones ran out every coach that wanted him to shut the fuck up and there is no way Cowher goes to Dallas.

Gruden and Holmgren are the two most likely to end up in Dallas.

Someone doesn't pay much attention..Shanahan is one of the top, if not the top pick. Cowher is a pipe dream, but anything's possible.

If the Cowboys sign Vick after Philly cuts him at the end of the year they might have an outside chance at luring Dungy out of retirement

Dungy's a much better fit looking uncomfortable as hell talking with Rodney Harrison on SNF.

First off, what's wrong with going to the concert at night? How is that a problem? All I see is overreacting Cowboys fans crying because the players actually have a life. The concert took nothing away from practice time seeing as how the concert was at night while practice is usually during the day. There's no entitlement for the fans. The players are allowed to have some fun on their own time no matter how much the fans want to cry and moan about it.

Second, there were film sessions already scheduled for Monday morning. So calm down. That's already being taken care of.

And third, as far as the penalties are concerned, bringing a disciplinarian isn't going to work. The Cowboys have had false start problems for years going back to before Parcells. If Parcells couldn't fix it, then there's no real hope for this batch of players. If you want to stop the false starts you basically have to trade away the entire O-line.

There's no quick fix with this team. Unfortunately, when it comes to the O-Line, not even a new coach is going to fix the false starts (read Flozell Adams). It's frustrating but that's just the way it is.

Anything the fans are saying the players have said already. And that's why the players are already working out on the field during their scheduled off practice days. The players made it the NFL because they were the best but also because they work out better than anyone else.

IMO the players aren't the problems anymore. The coaching is terrible and the attitude has infected the team. But you can't change an entire coaching staff in mid-season and expect the team to succeed. A total coaching change (staff and all) has to take place during the off season.

Football is the ultimate team sport, moreso than any other sport. You have to be able to play as a team and conducting only two practices during your bye week after such a shaky start to the season is flat out unacceptable. The reason Denver is over acheiving without much talent and a mediocre QB is because they work their ass off. It was reported by Nate Newton that McDaniels ran the Broncos through Friday team practice sessions for 6 hors before the Pats game when the norm is to give an off day. They work together, not just individually and it shows on the field. You can't get better as a team with individual workouts, you need the work together. There's no reason for millions of dollars a year they can't work 10 to 12 hours a day 5 to 6 days a week during the season. Nit just physical work, but team prep. Instead they're working only 2 days together during their bye week. That's why they lose games they should win. That's why they blow assignments and make far too many stupid mistakes. 4 offsides on one drive? That's ridiculous

Gotta agree, they look like underachievers out there. They need to be better if they are going to beat the better teams out there. Way too many mistakes for an "elite" team.
