I've seen Pop try to give someone confidence with remarks to the press about how well they are playing, but this is a new level. He really sees something in George Hill but feels that George has to stay aggressive and never be timid. I think Pop believes that the only thing that could stop George Hill is George Hill.

We're going to see Hill make some mistakes...but they are for the greater good. Hill showed glimpses of total badassery. Against Houston....step off Yao Ming, the rookie George Hill hasn't even finished learning the English language and he just took you to the rack!!!!!

Exciting stuff......I really don't know who I am most excited to see.

Pop's comments re: Hill were nice to hear. I can't wait to watch his game develop this season.

"Watch this guy play. Watch him play. Especially if you're a young one, and you want to know how to play, my favorite player is your guy to watch. "

Sounds like Pop is talking about more than George Hill's character and work ethic. :toast

I hope Hill buys into it because he can be an extremely efficient player in this league if he can guard two positions and knock down his free throws at a great clip. He doesn't have a problem getting to the line. All that he needs is to be comfortable in the system and to stay aggressive. Pop is giving him the green light. I just hope he makes it back home with the hot babe instead of crashing the Camaro into the ditch. Either way is better than him pulling over at the filling station and checking the tire pressure.

It is great to listen Hill talk. He has really matured a lot and you can see that he is confident. He has "great player" written all over him..watch out for this kid.

Manu's baldspot got bigger, I could see it when he was shooting 3s during TPs interview.

All 3 clips were great fun to watch.
Note the confidence Pop and TP showed in Roger Mason Jr. and Matt Bonner for the coming season.

My take on those two is that you don't throw away 3pt monsters, which is probably a big part of why Finley is still around, too--he's capable of blowing out a game all on his own from beyond the arc.

Remember how few minutes Steve Kerr and Brent Barry used to play, yet how many times they pulled a win out of the ashes of defeat?

My favorite part was when Hill said that he knows all the plays for all positions because he watched the films they gave him so many times.

It was interesting hearing about Pop letting both TP and George call more plays themselves this year. I definitely think Tony is ready to take on the added responsibility, and it can translate into more good opportunities, especially when the Spurs are playing up-tempo teams
