Byron Scott thought that it would be a good idea to start garbage time in the first quarter.

Oh well. It's still just preseason, and Okafor and Digou were out.

Whats going on with Okafor Red?

da magic got a steal in ryan anderson. i watched him all year last season he was really good . now he has been a consistent 20+ point scorer with magic. anderson can easily replace turkoglu.

The Hornets can end up being a really bad team this year. Okafor was a very good pick up, but something just seems off about them. I cannot put my finger on it.

Not Kings bad, but just worse than most expect.

Oh is that what you're supposed to do in preseason!?

Okafor has a mild toe strain. The Hornets are sitting him out for a few weeks so he doesn't become Tyson Chandler 2.0.

When ex-Captain Jack comes to New Orleans, nobody will be laughing then.

It's going to be great watching the Spurs whoop up on David West.

Really? The Hornets didn't have Chandler before (along with Peja and Posey), yet the Spurs still managed to lose. Hell, the Hornets beat the Spurs with a hobbled Chandler, and you think they're going to do worse with a better, healthier Okafor?

Uh, yeah. Spurs are going to own the shit out of the Hornets. No smack, just facts.

Hornets beat the Spurs?

I remember Chandler being a pain in the ass with his alley-oops and good defense 1 on 1 vs. Duncan.

Hornets beat the Spurs twice last season. I don't know why you're talking about the playoffs, because there's nothing saying these two teams will meet.

Yeah, and the Spurs beat the Hornets twice, as well -- once without Ginobli (but with Paul, West, Chandler and Posey all present and accounted for on the Hornets end).

The difference now is that the Spurs got better this offseason. The Hornets got...Okafor. Not bad, but not exactly a landmark move, either.

The Hornets didn't have Peja in either of their victories while the Spurs had everybody. Also, Chandler was missing in one of the Spurs' victories and didn't play in overtime in the other.

Chandler played 45 games last season. Okafor is not only a better player, but he hasn't missed a game in two seasons.

The Magic appear to be a pretty solid team from top to bottom. Their bench guys are solid and are reasonably young, sans White Chocolate. Gundy coaches them well, they play hard on defense, and have an offensive strategy that really matches up well with most teams.

Not to maintain the debate, but Ginobli didn't play in the 2nd Spurs victory. But whatever, you seem assured of victory, so I'll let the cold hard reality settle in when the time comes.

Wouldn't be alarming if it didn't seem to have them following last season's trend of uber-suck.

Did I say that the Hornets would win a seven game series? No, you claimed that the Spurs would. I just pointed out the fact that the Hornets beat a complete Spurs team while missing key players.

1.) Okafor and Diogu didn't play.
2.) Scott was experimenting with line-ups, which is why the rookies didn't play until the end of the game.
3.) It's preaseason.

In all seriousness, you can't expect much from Diogu. The guy is a scrub, and he doesn't add much value at all. I'll give you Okafor however.

That said, your third point is all that matters. Preseason championships are something only the Blazers fans care about.

Diogu has shown that he can produce given the minutes he needs.

Also, the Hornets were undefeated in the preseason, and we all know how the season tuned out. You're right on that regard.
