11 in a row.

2nd place in the Wild Card standings.

2 losses back from the Cubs.

:fro

Despite the disappointing season, the Astros aren't as bad (at least now) as people made them out to be. They just look worse cause the Cardinals ran away with the division early. 8o

Astros tied a NL record with 11 games in a row of scoring 6 or more runs. They are freaking on fire. Still have 2 games to make up on Cubs who by far have easier schedule, but they have to play 28 games in 27 days, so should Astros tie them, then the Cubs would be very tired in the one game playoff.

The Cubs may or may not be the better team but you have to credit the Astros with being aggressive and showing determination. We will see!

I haven't seen an offense this hot in my lifetime. It's unfortunate that it's taken a streak like this to get within striking distance of the Wild Card... and the Astros' remaining schedule is a tough one.

Hopefully, they will remain this hot throughout September, because (past month aside) I've come to realize that the Astros hitters are mental pussies. If one or two of them get cold, the entire lineup is fucked. Sort of like the Spurs' FT woes.

On another note, Carlos Beltran is having the most underhyped 40/40 season ever. Remember all of the publicity when Soriano and Guerrero were chasing 40/40? Maybe it's because he changed leagues midseason, but it's no less of a feat.

Hookdem, damn, if we had Andy, I would feel so much better in the playoffs. They might even have a slight chance to beat St Louis if they had him in the rotation in the playoffs.:(

7th inning, Astros up 5-1. Roger is finished after 7 strong innings giving up 4 hits and 1 run....now it is up to the bullpen. :baby

Have they mentioned anything about Beltran?

Astros win!!!! 5-2....but their streak of 6 runs or more is over....Who would have thought that, what with them scoring 5 in 1st inning and then not another the rest of the game? Spurm, Beltran is out.

Cubs lose to the Expos again... Astros now hold sole posession of the Wild Card.

But I'm still not getting my hopes up... :wink

Jim....here's where we see if they got what it takes. I'm pulling for them and that will probably do them in. I hope not!:wink
