Yeah I'm more than happy with his production.
He has a very smooth way of getting to the basket for his size and his rebounding ability is excellent. I cant wait for the season

1. What's his per minute aves, especially boards?

2. Has anyone ever boarded at this rate in the history of NBA preseason?

You can't calculate rebounds per minute when you have the rebounds and minutes listed for you?

DeJuan Blair boards quicker than New Orleans residents.

just times total rebounds by 60 minutes in an hour right?

Can't wait for tomo, I can see The Meast from a 100 yards away (less if I can sneak into the first floor of seats). My dream for tomo will be that Pop will play RJ, Ian, Hairston, Manu, Hill, Blair, Williams, Dyess, Theo, Haislip, Manu, Parker, and Duncan for at least 15 minutes each. But with the pattern that has emerged this preseason, Manu and Tim could easily sit out. Though the preseason is almost over, so the Big 4 will prob play every game to shake off the rust.

Oh, and have the two players who were obvious cuts (Jerrells and someone else) been let go yet? Cuz I want the guard rotation to be Hill, Hairston, Parker, Manu, and no one else. No Jerrells or Bogans to stink it up. And yes, I know Bogans is more or less a given.

just times total rebounds by 60 minutes in an hour right? Then multiply it by the number of threads the player has on the front page.

Yes it does. Think more 8 and 4 in 20 mpg.

jdev82. Why ask a question you can look up on Spurs.com to start a thread about a subject so thoroughly and sickeningly covered on pages 1-10 of this Forum....and then answer your own question and ask for comments?

You should be pinked for a week.

I think he'll get 6+ boards a game if he plays that much.

1. 9.3 rebounds in 20.8 minutes. So about a rebound every two minutes and 10 seconds.

2. Has anyone ever boarded at this rate in the history of NBA preseason?

Kevin Love is rebounding at a higher rate this preseason.

Oh I'm such a failure for asking. :rolleyes

I thought Blair might have been around a rebound a minute like he has been in some games.

Still have 3 games to go. Plus Love has played in 3 games, Blair 4.
Plus no one answered about before this year, history of NBA preseason.
Plus Love is not a rookie.

New q. Is that the best per minute ave rbd for a rookie? (15 min per game ave minimum requirement).

If you were able to find the details about Love, then you're obviously capable of answering your own questions.

The top 100 rookie rebounding seasons in NBA history in terms of rebounds per 36 minutes. I filtered out players who played less than 1,000 minutes in their rookie seasons. Only 2 active players in the top 100, Shaq and Kevin Love. Chamberlain, Russell and Unseld at the top of the list.

jdev82 thanks for posting the preseason stats. Since we are only now in preseason, to me it's a nice little look to compare Blair.

The thought police don't agree. :rollin

you guys reckon he can avg double-double in bench minutes say 17-20mpg... = ROY maybe? still better than recent rookies stats over the years that have won...right?

Yea he is owning the preseason so far.. showing great signs.

Just dont see him getting good enough court time in the regular season to put up serious numbers.. then again he only needs 20 mins to get himself a double double lol.

Yes and 4 rebounds in 20 minutes is solid. 5-6 would be outstanding. 10 as you mentioned would be nearly impossible.

nicely done.

The preseason alltime best rebounds per minute would be a hard one to find.

no. 9.3 boards divided by 20.8 mins. comes out to .4471 rebounds per minute. around half a rebound a minute.

hey solid d,
why the hate? do i hate on your threads? i introduced a topic and asked if anyone was surprised by this, and was wondering how posters on this site would think these stats would translate to regular season basketball. if you have nothing better to do than post negative and useless comments, dont fucking post.

First of all I do not hate you, nor was I hating on you. I was holding you to a higher standard and calling you out for posting a question in the title, then answering your own question. Your only other question was "comments?" With all the Blair threads out there, do you really think posting Blair's preseason averages as an answer to your own question is worthy of yet another Blair thread? Maybe it was.

I suppose, lately, reading threads in the forum is like panning for gold. Be better, okay? That's all I'm asking. Next thing you know, Sequ is going to post a link to spurs.com and say "discuss".

Blair can't catch Love now cause Loves injury means his preseason is done.

Blair would have to hork down about 2 boards per minute for 15 minutes to catch up.
